Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Craig CGalena, OH113 contributionsThis is a huge National Park with hiking and attractions scattered everywhere. If you love hiking, great views, waterfalls, and nature I'd encourage you to visit.Written 22 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tourist5964455 contributionsA simple walk from the car park to the viewing point at the bridge. Flat tarmac road all the way. Views are simply brilliant and not to be missed. Allow a good 3 hours to walk there and back and have a Guinness at the cafe. Pony and trap rides are available, but honestly I’d only take these if the 3/4 hour walk is difficult for anyone as the walk itself is fab. Personally I think driving the road is possible but a waste of time.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sheila NLondon, UK154 contributionsA beautiful natural wonder. Loads of moss. Beautiful trees. A stream. And of course the waterfall itself. Parking can be tricky. The trail was busy when we went. It would be even more magical on the off season.Written 26 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kai CHalf Moon Bay, CA1,168 contributionsNicely restored, interesting place on the lake. Well worth a visit from Killarney and a stroll by the lake. The custodian did a great job explaining the history and architecture.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EdwelshNorth Canton, OH4,621 contributionsWe rented a jaunting car at the street and road up to the Abbey. He stopped so we could get a picture of the black Kerry cows. Then we rode down by the lake where he dropped us off so we could walk down to the Wishing bridge so we could make a wish. We enjoyed exploring the ruins of the Muckross Abbey, it is quite large and must have been beautiful when open. Our driver told us, in his sing song accent, that there is a 700 year old Yew tree growing in the inside courtyard, it is just amazing. The cemetery is interesting and there are some fairly recent grave sites.Written 3 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SciGuyMrDPark Ridge, IL247 contributionsWe were met promptly and taken to a field to interact with a Harris Hawk, two Great Gray Owls and an Irish Barn Owl. Numerous opportunities to feed the birds, ask questions, interact with them and have them land on our gloves arms. The experience lasted just over an hour. A cool experience that I would have never had in Chicago.Written 15 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JordanColumbus, OH137 contributionsBeautiful, serene cathedral. Gothic architecture with lovely stained glass windows. The baptistry was very pretty. Many opportunities to light candles for various causes (for a suggested donation). - Dave BDurham, CT33 contributionsWhat an amazing experience!!! We are in our mid-60's and are fairly active for our age. We did a fair amount of training to prepare ourselves for this hike - we did 7 days - Killarney to Sneem - and our tour was arranged with Wonderful Ireland. I cannot say enough good about this tour company. They are extremely detailed in communication, execution, follow through, and we stayed at the best possible locations at each stop. They moved our luggage to each stop and saw that our daily hosts provided us with a box lunch. emergency cell phone, detailed maps with trail descriptions, and trekking poles (absolute necessity). Yes, the hike was difficult at times, but we were fine. The trail is very diverse in terms of terrain and trail types. When we went the theme was WET! Of the 7 days it rained on 4 days. At times the rain was moderate and at times just showers. In places the trail was extremely wet and boggy. I highly recommend water proof shoes and also the use of mole skin for your feet. You will encounter sheep poo in abundance. I estimate that we climbed over 125 stiles along the way. At times we walked on back roads, pastures, rocky trails. At times you scale small mountains and almost every day you will be climbing and then descending. The views are spectacular. The lodging hosts at each stop were always very friendly and accommodating. Our favorite stop was at the Stepping Stone. The hosts here are very kind, accommodating, helpful and the food is gourmet quality. I know I am rambling but there is so much to say about this experience. We wished we had done the entire Way, but we did not have enough time and we did not think we would last 9 days on the trail - turns out we could have done it. Plan some extra time to see Killarney - it's a real nice town and a nice area. We spent one day in Dublin on each end of the trip - taking the train to Killarney and back - real easy to do.Written 19 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AM-PMIndianapolis, IN64 contributionsThe traditional farm was very good. The only negative is that it took a LOT more walking than expected to get to the first site and between sites. But the people in the buildings were very entertaining overall--especially the "teacher" in the school house who provide a fun lesson in Gaelic. Make sure you hit the large barn in farthest back area to pet all the baby animals, too!Written 16 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GLB91Worcester, UK71 contributionsThe interactive museum in Killarney house, was free entry, but was really well thought out in its presentation of the area, its history, and environment and natural history. Gardens were beautiful to walk around ...an unexpected gem.Written 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - D ALong Beach, CA5 contributionsTook the boat ride over from Ross Castle, which was a great activity in and of itself. The island is so quiet and peaceful. I loved being there. There are trails around the perimeter that we explored a little bit, but didn't want to wander too far and miss our boat back. The ruins themselves are interesting to look at and my daughters had fun walking through and climbing around them. It was especially nice that it was not crowded - we were there with literally one other family of 4, so you really have an intimate experience to explore and reflect.Written 3 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
