Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Tracey OGrayson, GA12 contributionsGoing in mid-November was awesome! My husband and I drive the entire gap quite easily. The views are beautiful and change around every curve. Beware of sheep in the road, on-coming local cars (they drive it much faster than we did), and sharp turns. Our intent was to use a Jaunte Car but they were not running the morning we went.Written 27 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Misty WMarietta, GA182 contributionsWe've done falconry once before, nine years ago, and you just can't beat the experience of interacting with the birds. Geoffrey took us on a great one hour hawk walk where we met Arizona (hawk) and two different types of owls (Professor and Helen). He has a wealth of stories and facts on the birds, and has a great sense of humor. And the pictures and video we made are incredible - we're using one of the pics for our Christmas card this year. The building/meeting place itself is off a small road and isn't well labeled, but will likely have a van with the company logo on it so you'll know you're in the right place. Would definitely do again if we return to Killarney.Written 18 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - messi guyDundalk, Ireland24 contributionsIt's a great hike even on a rainy day. I did one from Tahilla to Blackwater Bridge. I was with my mam and I think we were the first to do it in 2024.Written 2 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BrookeMoralesLondon, UK1,949 contributionsYou don't have to hike up Irelands highest mountain if you do not have time or aren't prepared enough.
You can still walk around the lower parts taking in the breathtaking scenery. Rugged landscapes, rivers and imposing peaks. There is a car park at the foot of the mountain where you can park for €2.Written 31 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had tickets in the Panoramic Restaurant which was superb. The food was first class and plenty of staff for regular service to the table. Lovely having a balcony overlooking the course too. Incredible setting and a must for all racing fans to experience!Written 27 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LukasMiami, FL18 contributionsWe went March 2nd and set out from Cronin’s Yard at 8am. The weather and conditions were pretty extreme. There was extreme winds and a snow blizzard at top. Low visibility near the top. Had no gloves but summited at 11:09am. Definitely intermediate-advanced level.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Seamus C8 contributionsWe had a great hour here figuring our way through the clues as a family. First time ever to do an escape and it was not our last, we enjoyed it so much we came back the next day to do another room.
Good challenge but enough gentle nudges (hints) when we needed them. Two early teen daughters, myself and my wife all felt it was time really well spent and good value for €80. We talked about it beforehand and for ages afterwards and all agreed it was a great way to enjoy some rain time on the holiday.
Blackwater Valley seems like a slightly easier room for beginners.Written 3 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Piaras has a wealth of knowledge and a really engaging teaching style. The course was practical , informative and enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and learned so much. - Robert D3 contributionsMick was my hardworking fishing guide for three days who, in short order, also became a new friend. He certainly has the knowledge, experience and accolades when it comes to fishing. And he is determined to share his techniques and methods with his clients. He goes to great lengths to provide full and properly fitted equipment from rain gear and waders to rods. In my case with some leg issues he provided wading staffs, extra support when on tough terrain and even a riverside fold out chair for a nice break.
Did I mention good Craic? It is the spice of the adventure . He works hard to give you a great experience while keeping you smiling.
I definitely learned a new wet fly technique along with the memory of hooking into a beautiful 15-pound salmon. Thank you, Mick!Written 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We used their recommendation for e-bike rental from Killarney-Rent-a-Bike and were very pleased. We picked the bikes up at 9 am and had time to your Ross Castle before the boat ride started at 11 am. The ride was in an open boat and luckily we were prepared with rain gear as we did have a downpour. I highly recommend!Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Joseph R1 contributionBeautiful experience, John is a friendly and knowledgeable guide. The weather was amazing and the views from the summit of Carrauntoohil were spectacular. Thank you John O'Sullivan for getting me to the highest point in Ireland. I will never forget this experience. 🇮🇪☘️💚

We had a lads weekend and two of us opted for this trip, so glad we did and would recommend this activity to anyone looking for some fun and adventureWritten 2 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
