Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a fantastic trip. We had the boat and island to ourselves. The guide was informative and passed on lots of information.
We had an hour on the island which enabled us to walk around and explore the ruins.
The island is incredibly peaceful and a wonderful place to visit.

Loved this adventure to gap of Dunloe it was the best part of our trip to Ireland. The boat ride was also so amazing. The staff were all so kind and professional. Would highly recommend this adventure for anyone visiting. The only advice would be that the boat driver we had while so so kind, did speak a lot and when doing so would stop the boat so guests could hear him. However in doing this so often we went from being one of the first boats to depart to being the last boat to arrive at the castle. As a result we had little time to visit the castle as our bus driver was waiting for us to board.

Our Killarney adventure was an absolute dream! We started with a jaunting car ride, a truly unique experience. Our driver, Cal, was a treasure trove of local knowledge and Irish history. His passion for the area was infectious, and his stories brought the past to life. We were so impressed that we sought him out a few days later in town, and he was just as charming, offering us invaluable tips for our motorcycle journey.

The boat tour was the perfect complement to the jaunting car. Gliding across the tranquil waters of Killarney Lake, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, was pure magic. The mountains mirrored in the still water, the lush greenery, and the sense of peace were simply indescribable. It's one of those experiences that stays with you long after you've left. We can't recommend this combo tour enough!

This is a MUST DO when you visit Ireland! You will be in awe at the beauty of the Killarney National Park. Our Jaunting coach's name was Calvin and his horse was Maggie. Maggie was his grandfather's horse. He was funny, personable and knew lots of information about Ireland and the specific area. LOVED this incredible experience! Buíochas! (Thank you in Gaelic)

Walking the Gap of Dunloe was a fantastic way to spend our day. I recommend starting at Kate Kearney!s cottage and walking to Lord Brandon’s cottage…..it’s a prettier walk this way. Pick up the boat there and have a fun ride back to Ross Castle. the walk is steep at times but so lovely. Be aware: I was dreaming of a post-walk pint at Lord Brandon’s before we boarded the boat and there was none to be had. They did have great soup and hot chocolate! Walking the gap took us about 2 hours.

This is a great tour for outdoor enthusiasts, fabulous scenery. The combination of boat tour and hike was great for active people. It would have been good to have some additional commentary on the boat and information for the self guided hike.

This was the best excursion of the entire Ireland vacation. Unbounded beauty, physical challenge or take an amazing horse drawn carriage ride through the gap. If you can’t walk the 7 miles you can get a horse carriage ride for an extra 50.00 euros. That should be mentioned as they only took cash. The day ended with a fun boat ride back to Killarney.

Outstanding! Our tour guide and his horse were so nice and friendly. The Gap of Dunloe has scenery that reminds you of a wonderful painting. It's just beautiful. Seeing it quiet and calm with a horse made it so special. I highly recommend this experience.

Had an amazing boat tour from Ross castle out to Innisfallen island last Monday evening. First of all the views are spectacular, and the island itself is beautiful, so peaceful and the fact we did the tour later in the evening we actually had the whole island to ourselves which was a nice surprise. We got the chance to explore the island and came across the many deer as we walked through the old ruins of the monastery and church. Mike was a fantastic guide, he told us lots of stories about Ross castle and Innisfallen island on the boat journey, and he even took lots of photos of us which we really appreciated. He also gave us lots of time on the island and we didn't feel under pressure or rushed in any way.
It was the coolest thing we did in Killarney. I couldn't recommend Mike and his tour company enough, 10/10

We had a great trip to the meeting of the waters and Dinis!

Friends were down from Wexford and we brought them down to the boat tour and they loved every minute of it!

They can't wait for their next trip to Killarney to try one of the other tours. The Gap Trip is the next one!

Nice lake tour by covered boat. Comfortable bench seats, nice staff, good 1 hour cruise around the lakes, leaving from Ross Castle. Commentary by the captain, slows to see major features.
Well worth a trip if the weather is good, otherwise scenery is limited.

This was a brilliant day trip. Myself and my family began this trip in Ross Castle and ended in Brandon’s Cottage. The views on the way up through the lakes and river were spectacular, we loved going through the river near the top of the lakes. We also spotted an eagle on the way up which was very cool! The boat driver was very kind, knowledgeable and made the journey extremely enjoyable and fun. I would recommend this trip with this company to anyone visiting Killarney and we are going to be sure to make it a tradition every summer!
