Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really enjoyed our visit to Muckross House and Gardens.
There is a lot of parking which is free. The grounds are lovely and we walked 25 minutes up to Torc Waterfall (so we didn't have to fight for a parking space there later on). Only did the gardens and enjoyed lunch in the cafe.
The only charge is if you want entry to the house and farms.

Nice walking trails on the hills of Kilcummin with beautiful views of Killarney, the lakes, the McGillicuddy Reeks and Slieve Mish mountains.

This walk was a great way to get a sense of the mountains without doing a long or difficult hike. It took 2-2.5 hours return with a slow 7 year old. Well worn trail. The track begins about 1km into the Gap of Dunloe from Kate Kearney's cottage (lots of parking there). Drive or walk south from Kate Kearney's until you see a small parking area on the right (west) side of the road (room for 2-3 cars only). There's a mountain rescue warning sign on a large rock. Pass through the gate and follow a wide rocky path zig zagging up the hill. It eventually winds its way to a cairn (good views here) or further up to three cairns on the top of the hill proper (even better views but you have to pass through some boggy bits and eroded track). It's really exposed up there. Beware of strong winds and mist or cloud that can descend quickly and make it tricky to navigate back.
