Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff are excellent. But food has got really expensive.

Always used to get a meal when I get on before going to my cabin. €18 for canteen food is overpriced.

Luckily I had a fry not long before I got on. Just preparing people so they can do the same.

Saturday 23rd July and we sailing to Dublin from Holyhead Port on board Stena Line Ferry Adventurer.

Our voyage was due to commence at 14.45 and docking at 18.00, a sailing time of three hours and fifteen.

When booking our sailing we also included the Premium Lounge, which included priority boarding and disembarking.

We commenced boarding at around 13.45 and we were seated and settled in the lounge by 14.00. Where there were a variety of snacks, hot & cold drinks available. There were also a selection of meals to purchase.

The Captain did make an announcement, just before we were due to depart, to inform passengers of a delay. An earlier Irish Ferries sailing, from Holyhead, was cancelled and Stena were accommodating as many of the passengers as possible, which caused the delay. The Lounge did not get too full, the rest of the ship did, so pleased we had booked it.

We did actually set sail 15.35 and were informed that we would be docking in Dublin about 45 minutes later than scheduled.

The Lounge and other areas of ship that we visited were clean and well maintained, some areas did look recently redecorated.

During our journey we did visit the Duty Free Shop where there were some good savings on some products. None of the offers in the brochure were available on our sailing.

We were delayed a but further as the ship had to circle in Dublin due a number of ships exiting the dock.

We eventually docked in Dublin at 19.00, an hour later than scheduled We were off the ship 19.10.

Despite it being a bit windy and misty and poor visibility it was a smooth sailing.

Normally a late arrival would definitely ensure a less favourable rating, that would be unreasonable in this instance, the Ferry was delayed for legitimate and a good reasons.

Caught the ferry from Liverpool to Dublin on Monday and returned on Friday,
although mainly for freight the ferries are comfortable and clean although there are some stairs to negotiate which rules out persons with disabilities. On the plus side two free meals are included and the price is great.

This was an excellent trip. Jimmy explained what all we were seeing as we were going out and coming back in. He was very interesting and informative in a very fun way. I would highly recommend putting this on your to do list while in Dublin. Thank you Jimmy and Dave!
