Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- therichastillStevenage, UK3,524 contributionsLUAS are the tram services in Dublin. There are two lines, the red line runs from The Point and Connolly station in the East through the city centre to Heuston, Tallagt and Saggart in the West. There is also the green line which runs from Brides Glen and Sandyford in the South to Parnell and Broombridge.
The lines cross on O'Connell Street.
On the red line the trams have 7 carriages and on the green line the trams have 9 carriages. When I travelled on the red line the trams were all busy and although I was lucky to get a seat some people were not so fortunate.
On one of the days I was in Dublin the green line was not running at all. I believe this was due to signalling problems as there were trams stuck on various points. There were staff out and about trying to support passengers by signposting them to bus routes to they could get home.
Generally they run well but there are times when things go belly up.
The tram stops I visited were all clean and well presented and the ticket machines dispensed tickets. You can pay by cash or card.Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Despite their outward appearance (old, rickery) they were actually very clean and had a smooth ride. It was also very affordable at €2 per ride when using the DART card. You can get the card at any convenience store or small shop (€5) or at a vending machine in the station. Great way to get around!Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SwedishtomcatDiss, UK4,629 contributionsThis tunnel should come with a warning since you’ll probably struggle to hold your breath for the entire length as it is almost three miles long. Sticking to the 50mph speed limit means it takes approx three-and-a-half minutes to get through.Written 7 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ballinora4Cork, Ireland172 contributionsI took the bus from Dublin Airport to Cork.
Positive: punctual service, very clean bus, good WiFi, quite friendly driver
Negative: very “jerky” ride with lots of sudden breaking and abrupt lane changes (I’d guess the driver was under pressure to be on schedule); occasional bad smell (from toilet) was evidentWritten 14 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was looking at the tracker for the 8 o’clock bus from Ennis as that was supposed to be the one that was going to Tralee at 12. I could see the 8 o’clock on the tracker but no bus number. I got over to Burgh quay at around 12 and the bus didn’t show up in the 15 minutes that it was due to leave. Eventually, a driver told us that they were pairing it with the 1.15 to Killarney. When 1.15 came, there was no sign of the bus. At about half past, a bus that had been sitting at the bus stop for ages came and took us all on. We left at about quarter to 2, with the bus full to the brim. When we got to the red cow, we were transferred on to a double decker, which was pretty packed out as well, though it emptied out in Kildare Village. The journey was supposed to end at 4.40 and we only got into Limerick around then. By the time we were in Tralee, it was near 7, so we were 2 hours late getting in. There was a load of passengers outside the bus waiting on the 5.30 to Dublin. As I got off, they changed drivers and I heard the new driver say that they had to go to Killarney, so not only were the people that had just got off delayed, the people waiting to get on were also going to be delayed by at least an hour. This is a classic Dublin Coach thing, I won’t be travelling with them for a while again but there is unfortunately people who rely on them to get to work and college and this is what they have to deal with. Disgraceful.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
