Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Michelle R1 contributionI really enjoyed this trip. I am glad we did the two day tour and got to stay overnight in Cork. We especially loved the Cliffs of Moher. The bus drive home was too long. We went out of our way to switch buses.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CP CParis, France20 contributionsAbsolutely delighted with this tour company. Great service, took in some great sights. My mother-in-law went with them recently and had a great time. She mislaid an earring in one of the B&Bs and Paddywagon not alone went out of their way to get the earring back for her, but wouldn’t accept any money for the postage. They really take customer satisfaction seriously, can recommend 100%.Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JennyK15 contributionsWhat a fabulous tour this was! Ireland is a truly beautiful country and this three day tour allowed us to see so much of it with all the hassle of organisation and driving taken gratefully from our hands. We got so lucky with the weather given that it was January. We were part of a very small group (not surprising given the time of year) and so our wonderful tour guide Steve could be flexible and make sure we saw more of what we wanted (castles) and adapt our trip for the weather. I would highly recommend Paddywagon Tours. They are the experts for touring in Ireland. Thanks to our guide Steve for being so friendly and hospitable.Written 23 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alain S2 contributionsThis tour waa incredible and well worth the price. We saw pretty nuch everything that you would want to see if you're going to Ireland to discover as much of the country as possible in 6 days, without having to worry about driving or accommodations. We had Vincent as a driver for the first 3 days and Ian for the last 3 days. They were both extremely kind and knew the best spots to take amazing pictures. One of the people in our tour for sick on the first day and Vincent took care of taking her to the hospital and followed up with her regularly. Ian was extremely funny and cery knowledgeable, we learned a lot about Ireland and the Gaelic laguage with him, he was a fan favorite on the bus and knew everyone by their names. Fully recommend this tour.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Andrea15654Costa Mesa, CA15 contributionsOutstanding ! In every respect - train transportation is easy, luxury coaches provided with excellent guides to assist along the way , and very nice hotel . The guides were superlative- providing informative lectures, including local and historic commentary - Highly recommend 5 stars all the way !Written 23 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan I14 contributionsWe had the most amazing time with our tour guide Cathal. He was so informative, pleasant, and just the best. He made us feel very welcome and he was a joy to be around. The tour took us to exactly places we wanted to see. Maybe with a few little extras along the way, which were perfect. I would highly recommend this company as it was a perfect trip and especially our guide Cathal. The hotel and food accommodations were fantastic. Our locations were beautiful and we were blessed with the most perfect weather. We so enjoyed Ireland and the people and plan on coming back again with this group and with Overland Ireland.❤️💚💚💚💚🍀Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - laura n1 contributionThis trip was confusing and of poor quality. The website lists different stops but this was our itinerary:
Day 1. 6 hr drive to Galway with 3 short stops beside a road. We were left in Galway at 2 pm for 20 hours. We were picked up the next day at 1030 am to go to……..Galway for an hour!
Day 2. See the FIRST -and last- place of interest at Cliffs of Moher at 2 pm. Then 4 hrs to Dublin with one stop at a gas station.
To summarize: no Glengowla,no Burren, no Corcomroe Abbey, no Bunratty Castle, and no actual information about anything in two days that we couldn’t have picked up from 4 minutes on the internet.Written 4 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Agata O1 contributionStarting with the positive - the tour itself, the stops and scenery are gorgeous! However, there was a lot of dosorganization and confusion. At the initial stop, we were told to hop on a bus to the Cliffs, which we quickly realized was doing a one day tour, instead of 2-day trip which we signed up for. Its itinerary was also different than it was stated in our booking. Our driver seemed confused that we were advised to get on the said bus. He resolved the issue and we got on another bus later in the day, but it was quite stressful and the whole issue could be avoided if they double checked the destinations or name lists. After that though the trip with our second driver, Stephen, was lovely and made up for the trouble.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gene E H1 contributionThank you, David, for being a wonderful guide, an experienced safe driver and a guy I'd love to have as a neighbor. The well-organized tour gave us sights we could only imagine. What an absolutely beautiful and historic country. We challenged ourselves to kayak Dingle Bay and swung from the chandeliers at night. Congrats to all at Overland Tours. Gene and Vickie Horak, Colorado USA.Written 27 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan E8 contributionsWe had an incredible time on this tour. Vinny (our driver and tour guide) made this tour fantastic. He took us to some incredible spots, we sang (and drank) in awesome local pubs and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the area and the history too!Written 12 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carey FMiddleton, WI68 contributionsWe had a wonderful time, learned a lot, and saw gorgeous scenery every day. This tour is the perfect way to spend time in some of the most beautiful towns in Northern Ireland and the northwest of Ireland, including Derry, Donegal, Westport and Clifden. We were on the beautiful coast much of the time and walked on several beaches. We enjoyed a lot of traditional music in Donegal and Westport. Our guide/driver, Mark Ryan, was amazing, smart and very funny. I wish he could publish his 5 day “talks” so I could relive all his great information and funny comments and jokes. He kept us laughing!Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Chris2 contributionsRailtours appears to operate on a different model than other tour companies. They seem more tour agents, setting up accomodations and tours with local companies thus spreading your Euro around more efficiently. Also unlike other tours, you may not be with the same people your entire trip; as if there's ala carte options providing a more tailored experience. They do a good job of having their Yellow Jacket escorts meet you and ensure you get to where you're going and to the guide who'll show you around.
I set out to enjoy eight days seven nights discovering Ireland. However a storm changed my travel to and from Dublin from London; which was slated to be a train and ferry ride. Railtours was proactive the day before my trip, letting me know that I would need to arrange a flight and refunding me the portion that was cancelled without me even requesting.
Arriving Dublin on the day slated and to the Ashling Hotel (4*) near Heuston Station and was printed a voucher for a 48 hour Hop-on-off bus tour the following day. Then off via train to Cork to check out the last anchoring site of the Titanic and other sites before stopping in Killarney and the Great Southern Hotel (5*). Followed by a tour of the Ring of Kerry and a second night at Great Southern. Then it was off to the Galaway region to discover Aran Island and Connemara while staying at Galmont Hotel & Spa (4*). Returning to Dublin and the Ashling before traveling to Belfast to take a tour to Giants Causeway. My final tour day I chose to explore Dublin on foot. The intent was to travel back to London via Ferry and train; but the ferry was cancelled and I had to fly back on my final travel day. I was again refunded the unused ticket portion; which mother nature prevented.
The trip at times felt a little fast paced due to some early wakeup and meet times to travel to the next destination. However, I did get to see quite a bit of the Emerald Isle. Recommend for people who aren't sure what they want to see. If you want more time in a location, you might check with Railtours about a more custom tour.
Special shout out to the Yellow Jackets Gerry, John, Andrew, and to those whom I communicated with Suzanne and Carina.Written 17 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They were like all of us caught off guard when Covid happened and it could not be foreseen. I think like many business models they use future booking money to pay for expenses and salaries for current tours and when refunds were asked for there were no future tours to count on. I will most surely book with them again for a tour in 2022.Written 13 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Erin GEdina, MN1 contributionMy family took a trip around Ireland through Overland... We celebrated our dad's 82nd birthday and traced his roots back to his ancestors original hometown. It was the time of our life! David was our tour driver and absolutely wonderful, accommodating and made sure to make it a great time for us. Thank you for making it such a special time.Written 21 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
