Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our tour guide for this was Neil and he did a fantastic job explaining the history behind Guinness. The Jameson portion was done by the Jameson distillery which was also really good. Great distillery and one of the better distillery tours I’ve done before especially considering I’m not a whiskey fan. We stopped at the Brazen Head (oldest pub) after Jameson, where Neil gave us the rundown on Guinness. He was so full of knowledge to the point where the locals who were there watching a world cup game were listening in!

Shane (Seán/Seaghán?) was our fearless and friendly guide on a wild and rainy night of beer tasting and touring of rural Irish pubs! Shane did a wonderful job entertaining the group with stories and teaching us traditional Irish songs. The pubs visited were all different and the locals, as promised were very friendly and welcoming.
We've done quite a few city tours on various travels, but this tour with Shane was far the best. He encouraged everyone to participate on the bus ride to and from each pub. This made for a very friendly atmosphere with our fellow beer drinkers.Kudos to Shane for remembering all of our names! By the last pub, we were all able to enjoy singing along with the local band playing at the pub!

We couldn't fit in with the regular tours so we took a chance and contacted Shane at Rural Pub Tours. He went way beyond the norm to arrange a Rural Pub Tour for our group which was absolutely brilliant. The man should be on a stage. A real genuine Irish Leprechaun. Very highly recommended.

Our tour with Carl of Dublin was informative, fascinating, personalized to our questions, and fun! I highly recommend. My husband and I (we're American) enjoyed finding out the history from a native's perspective. Carl obviously loves what he does and was passionate about the history of his country. We especially enjoyed finding out how to properly drink Guinness! No wonder we didn't like it before. The combination of beer and history was the perfect blend. After a couple hours on our feet exploring the city, we'd rest our feet at a pub where we tried Irish whiskey and then again Guinness. Our time on Dublin would have been wasted without this tour. Thanks Carl!

I had a great evening with Maura. We visited different pubs, meet a lot of nice people, tasted different beers. She also showed me historical places with a lot of knowlege of these places. We both have an interest in Vikings :-) I hope to meet you again Maura

What a fun experience! We had a group of 24 people on our "perfect pint tour" and everyone had a blast. Keith and Dave were the perfect hosts as we traveled to some very local pubs in and around Dublin city. Very unique, very fun, very professional, very entertaining! Highly recommended!

The beer tour was great fun! We went two four different pubs/bars and we loved all of them!
The stories Kevin told were entertaining, and interesting and we learned lots about drinks in Ireland. The group size was very good as it was easy to get to know each other. It’s definitely worth the money and if you have the Dublin pass, you definitely do it! Me and my husband both said both tours (we did the food and beer tour)were the best things we did in Dublin!
Loved the foccacia in the third pub!

We signed up for the Classic Irish Pub Tour with Ruairi hoping to get a little background on Irish music with the opportunity to enjoy it in some classic pubs. While that is certainly what we received, with Ruairi, we got so much more. Ruairi is a true Dubliner and really provided a complete and detailed background of the city that was both interesting and fun. Leading us through different parts of Dublin, he informed us about the city's history, geography, art, culture and even told us a few ghost stories. My wife and I really appreciated how knowledgeable Ruairi was about so many different aspects of Irish life and how willing he was to share some great anecdotes highlighting his own experiences.

While I certainly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to sample Irish music while enjoying a Guinness and Irish Stew, I really recommend taking this tour with Ruairi if you are looking for a well-rounded insightful night of Irish culture.

Absolutely brilliant afternoon spent with Garvan learning about Irish history, literature, and pub culture. A wonderful 4-hour moveable conversation over pints with our gentleman scholar and new found friend. Everyone engaged and connected. A can’t miss experience.

Really enjoyed going on this pub tour. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be a memorable experience! Great for people who want to see non touristy parts of Dublin.
