Feels like original decor, no concessions to modern gastro pub culture, bloke behind the bar has been pulling pints for 40 years. Guiness was fantastic. Basically a proper Irish boozer with no food. Also went in for a drink in the afternon in the bar area. Old fashioned irish bar with the drinks you would expect in this kind of pub. The place is always jumping even through the week at lunchtime.
Its mostly tourists looking for a "typical Irish pub". Its not and its there to make maximum profit.
However...go and experience it and watch loads of people come in with cameras, phones and video cameras.
Its a fascinating watch. Grab a pint (dont expect much change from a 10 euro note) sit down, listen to a "traditional" Irish singer and watch it all go by.

The little red door of the pub was pointed out to us on our DoDublin bus tour and we had to check it out (even if just to say we'd had a pint of Guinness in the smallest pub in Dublin). Class pints, nice atmosphere of soft chat and a atypical irish pub experience. The food and waiting services are very good. Not cheap but good value. The Irish coffees were delicious and perfect thing to warm us up.
