Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Yes there is a man looking for money for the car park. Who cares. The cost of the car park is so worth it. A massive beach, clean, clear water, sand that makes you want to build a sandcastle. Rocks to climb on, rocks to climb into. The sheep are still better climbers than me, but I made it to watch the sea. Needs a coffee van in one of the caves though just to finish the place off. Definitely a good spot

We had heard about this beach and while in the area decided to check it out. It is a good few miles off the main road but well worth the effort. It is simply beautiful and one of the nicest beaches we have ever seen.

What a pristine beach! Very clean white sand and clear turquoise waters along about a mile of beach front. Absolutely empty of people. Who knew Ireland had such a beach? At low tide you can walk to an island with ruins of an abbey and other structures. The day we did this we watched a tractor bring sheep across the sand dune to the island for their summer grazing home. So cool!

The water was warm for oceans - much warmer than our home in New England. If the air were warmer I'd have gone in!

Gorgeous beach with stunning views! I'd recommend parking at the wee chapel and walking down to the beach, it's about a 10 minute walk. There is parking further down the lane but hard to turn. Go for a lovely long walk or sit and enjoy the beach! However it isn't safe for swimming due to dangerous rip tides.

Blow away the cobwebs and have a walk on the gorgeous sandy Fintra beach. There is a small free car park at the end of a narrow road down to the beach. A fab place to recharge the batteries.

Huge beautiful deserted (in May) beach, it was absolutely stunning. We visited several beaches in the area and this was the most glorious

Great beach you can drive on and park for free. The beach is huge so there's plenty of room. There are shells at this beach and plenty of room to spread out.

What a lovely sandy beach Marble Hill Strand is. If your there early or late you can park on the road, otherwise there is a car park up the road. The beach is truly stunning. A great place to blow away the cobwebs to start or end the day.

My husband, toddler, baby and I checked out this beach on the recommendation of a family member that had stayed in the area the previous week. Even with the tips on how to access it, down a grassy path through the dunes, we missed the parking area for it despite another car being parked there. It is very near the turn off to Dunree Fort. It is a lovely beach. Worth checking out if in the area. However, we were more blown away by the nearby Gap of Mamore and Lenan Strand/Lenankeel beach: check these out if you can. That's Donegal for you though-spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches🏖️🙌🌞

We love this pebble beach - a great workout if you tackle it, and lovely views if you take the top path. The stones are incredible - lovely colours and shapes, some look like boiled eggs! However yesterday we took the top path and near the start there was a burnt-out fire, and the most horrendous stench of what we think was sewage. Nothing visible. So near the children's play park too, but thankfully only for 30 yards max until you pass it. Walkers - don't take the dune path leaving the play park, walk along the beach for 50 yards or so and then take the upwards slope if you want easier walking. Your nose will thank you for it!
