Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Sophie & PaulMontreal, Canada268 contributionsBeautiful setting with a historical castle in the backdrop. The grounds are superb. The interior (for the first 3 floors) was somewhat interesting. However, the cue felt like an endless crawling pace towards the summit. At our first chance we took the first possible exit and headed to the Blarney House and gardens which was by any stretch of the imagination much more interesting. Take your time to walk the gardens, and when you visit, if the timing is right, also take the guided tour of the Blarney house. Very interesting and well worth the time.Written 7 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marlee319Alpharetta, GA338 contributionsMy friend took me to this place called the English market, which is a series of little shops that serve cheeses, meats, fish, and anything you would put on your dinner table. I was overwhelmed at how much glorious food they had for sale. If I lived in Cork, I would come here every weekend to purchase fresh breads, and produce and meats and cheeses. There are many entry points into this market in Cork. Make sure you come here because it's amazing.Written 2 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Rachel FasuloThomaston, CT132 contributionsThe Blarney Stone castle grounds were so much fun to explore. They have ice cream and so many things to tour! We started with the castle, followed by the "poison garden", and then the family home. The history of all of it was so interesting to learn and we had SO much fun! Oh, and everyone says not to kiss the stone because the locals pee on it- up to you whether you do it or not! - Shivasai chCork, Ireland1 contributionI am currently pursuing my MSc in Information Systems for Business Performance at University College Cork (UCC), and my experience here has been nothing short of exceptional. UCC is one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities, and it truly lives up to its reputation.
The campus is a beautiful blend of historic and modern architecture, providing a picturesque setting for study and leisure. The Quadrangle, with its ivy-clad buildings, is particularly stunning and offers a serene environment for students.
Academically, UCC excels with a wide range of programs and a strong emphasis on research. The faculty members are not only knowledgeable but also approachable and supportive, fostering a great learning environment. The university's commitment to sustainability is evident in its green initiatives, making it Ireland's most sustainable campus.
Cork city itself is a vibrant place to live, with a rich cultural scene and friendly locals. The university's proximity to the city center means that everything you need is just a short walk away, from cafes and restaurants to shops and entertainment venues.
Overall, UCC offers a well-rounded and enriching experience, both academically and socially. I highly recommend it to anyone considering studying in Ireland.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - McCloskey13Ireland81 contributionsI love visiting a cathedral and seeing the architecture and the art - this one was brilliant. I arrived during a service so I had to wait a bit to get in but it was all clear by 12:30. It was seven euros, which was a bit steep if you’re not interested in cathedrals, but if you are it’s worth it!Written 24 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - coffeeandbooks161 contributionsThis is a hidden gem . Just outside crosshaven. The 220 bus stops right outside the fort and collects you in the Same spot again . It is so unique , you learn great history about this place , get to go in gun rooms , old sleeping quarters, underground tunnels , see a WW1 photo and model scale . The views are breathtaking too being able to see all the way to cobh , spike island , aghada, roches point , the last sighting of the Titanic . Picnic benches all over to sit and enjoy the views. Very reasonable priced at only €8 for adults .

We all tried different things: corean, burger and hotdogs and nothing was really good.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BRIAN GLiverpool, UK116 contributionsThe fort is located a short walk from the centre of Cork and is a very interesting place to visit, especially as it is free (although donations are welcomed).
A walk around the ramparts offers some great views over Cork. In addition there is a small museum dedicated to some of the women prisoners from when the fort was used as a prison. Of particular interest was the sad story of the sinking of the prison ship Neva which sunk off Tasmania in 1835 killing most of the women and children aboard.
All in all, well worth a visit.Written 1 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Liz EDubai, United Arab Emirates25 contributions- Good range of play equipment in park

It was our first time climbing and what a fantastic experience we had! Thanks to our lovely patient & encouraging instructor Carla and to Cillian, Filip & Jean Marc for looking after our booking at the front desk. Highly recommend Awesome Walls Cork for kids (and big kids) over the summer holidays. A great way to spend an afternoon together - for kids and parents, trying a new & very enjoyable sport. We will be back before school starts!Written 5 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marzia DFItaly63 contributionsGreat experience, very interesting and informative even for our 5 year old! The girl who guided us through the engine room was very well prepared and entertaining, dedicating lots of time to us even though we were the only ones. She told us lots of interesting facts about the waterworks and its history. We appreciated the emphasis on energy saving too.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marium S6 contributionsMy family & I had a great night at the dogs. We had the 3 meal course at the reserved seating in the restaurant. The staff were very welcoming & friendly. The food was tasty and the portions were good. It's a fun experience for all ages.
A special thank you to Margaret at the reservations office who made sure everything was in order and made me feel like a valued customer.Written 12 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's also your opportunity to spend time with a serving Member of the Irish Defence Forces who has served on several peacekeeping tours, to learn about life in the defence forces and the men and women who have served our Country.
Seamus Forde is an incredibly informed curator (part-time :)) who oozed passion for his country, comrades and the Army way of life. He's a credit to the Defence Forces, truly representing them as an ambassador, in addition to being a hell of a nice guy!.
Highly recommend the visit!Written 20 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
