Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Mike BMineral, VA989 contributionsDuring our coach tour of Ireland, we spent about 3 hours at the castle and the nearby village. The castle is awesome to see, and pretty easy to walk to from the parking lot. There are also lots of trails on the property, and more to see if you have the time and energy. We were pretty content with just the castle and the house. We did not kiss the Blarney stone, having been warned ahead of time how you had to lay down and contort your body to do it. Plus the fact that it was a 45 minute wait just to get up there. But even if you don't, it's still worth seeing the castle, walking the grounds, and hitting the shops & restaurants nearby.Written 21 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ron TGreenville, SC3,871 contributionsStopped in here for a short while in Cork. It was not easy to find, but the shops we did see were nice (we bought some nice chocolate for a snack).Written 11 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ross M11 contributionsMy girlfriend booked a guided tour of the Gaol on my birthday trip to Cork, because I have a great interest in Irish 19th Century crime and punishment.
Our tour guide Shaun (Sean/Shawn, apologies) was just brilliant. He kept us informed and interested throughout.
It differs from Gaols I’ve seen elsewhere, with fascinating stories of a variety of inmates and staff. While it is obviously very difficult to understand what it would have been like as an inmate, Shaun’s tour took us close.
I wholeheartedly recommend the guided tour of the Gaol.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is an entrance fee for which you get an information leaflet and then can take time on a self tour. There is a very small car park but other than that parking can be a challenge. Would definitely recommend if in Cork.Written 2 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tim0thymkStevensville, MD156 contributionsThis was an excellent educational trip. The castle is a challenging climb on narrow steps, but worth the energy. The grounds are park-like with beautiful waterfalls. The house can only be viewed from a distance.Written 7 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- CharlieV2011Chicago, IL1,611 contributionsI absolutely loved my experience here! Climbing to the top of the church and viewing the city on a nice sunny day was so much fun. The staircase is very narrow so it may take some time waiting for others coming from the opposite direction as no more than one person can get through at a time. The inside of the church was nice and very peaceful! I’m glad I made my way to this church!Written 18 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- rossdmdPanama City Beach, FL856 contributionsArriving in Cobh on a cruise ship for a day, we looked at the local visitor center and then decided to take the train to Cork. A local girl recommended we just walk to the fort. Great advice. The fort was a great view, a nice half hour and then we wandered back trough town, The story of the fort through the centuries is interesting.Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rubylasscork170 contributionsWhat a fabulous attraction in the beautiful Crosshaven. Plenty to see, both inside and outside so still a lovely visit on a wet day. Staff were so helpful and knowledgable and when we found out that the whole place is run by volunteers, it made the visit more special. The work and effort that the volunteers put into Camden really is outstanding and they should all be commended. It is a work in progress and we will def be back in a few years to see what they have added but we still spent over 2 hours here. The views from the cafe were spectacular and well worth eating outside just to see the view. I really can’t speak highly enough of what Camden Fort is, I would recommend everyone to visit to see for yourself, what can be achieved when a group of people come together to turn a derelict site into a top tourist attraction. Well done to all involved and we look forward to returningWritten 27 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Liz EDubai, United Arab Emirates29 contributions- Good range of play equipment in park
- Fairy trail that was long enough for little legs to enjoy and complete
- Plenty of parking
- Loads of green space to run around
- Would have been nice to have a coffee shop/cart option- didn't see anything of the kind

The intimate coffee/wine Dock is a welcome stop off before the Cinema. The patrons who visit appear to have a genuine appreciation of the arts, as there is no popcorn munching, unwrapping of sweets or mobile phone intrusions. The City Centre venue makes for convenience and the staff are always helpful and pleasant. We look forward to receiving the weekly Schedules so that we can plan our next visit.Written 6 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
