Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- L HChicago, IL1,912 contributionsThe grounds are absolutely lovely, and the castle’s not bad either😁 An entire day might not be enough to fully explore all the paths, gardens and sights. The castle is impressive, and kissing the stone (which requires lying on your back, hanging your head backwards over the edge) is touristy silliness, but fun! Well worth a long visit, better off-season to avoid crowds; a good place to enjoy fall colors.Written 8 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - L HChicago, IL1,912 contributionsFun open-indoor food hall with a wide variety of fresh/packaged/prepared foods, goods & services, with some unique stalls. Very crowded on weekends, with long lines for the cafe upstairs.Written 5 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NNeManchester, UK129 contributionsWorth the uphill walk up to this. Spent a while wandering round and reading about what had happened here. The statues were a little creepy but really added to the experience walking aroundWritten 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alison D1 contributionKevin was an absolute gent while giving us a guided tour around the UCC campus. He had great passion while telling us about UCC and gave us an insight into his own course he was doing. He had great advice and was very informative.Written 8 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gordon MVancouver, WA42 contributionsOf all the Cathedrals in Ireland, this one has a really interesting history. Don’t be shy about asking for some of the history, starting with the back-stories of the architect, William Burgess. (Stephen really made this visit special.) Look for the astrological symbols ‘snuck’ into the stained glass windows in the top tier! Also, the story behind the two sets of pipes for the Organ. (Early surround-sound.)Written 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- D PWellington, New Zealand6,692 contributionsIf you don’t like heights then save yourself by not queuing to go up and kiss it. You have to lie on your back and bdangle over the edge I order to reach it. There are bars to stop you slipping through and people to help you but you’re up high and looking down!!
It’s a bit of fun if nothing else and as there were no more than 5 people in front of us we didn’t have long to wait. Getting up the narrow stone spiral staircase was the hardest part if you’re broad like my husband!!Written 2 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You climb stairs to the level of the bell pulls where you can pull the ropes to play different tunes that ring out over the city. After you ring the bells, a unique opportunity, you get to climb the stairs of the tower. The climb includes passing through the level of the bell mechanism and is topped by an expansive view of the City of Cork. The view of the city enables you to appreciate the historic and economic significance of the city as you look over the old and new neighborhoods. You also get to spend time in the wonderful historic church itself. The experience brings new meaning and life to the wonderful Irish song and poem The Bells of Shandon by Francis Sylvester MahonyWritten 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rossdmdPanama City Beach, FL856 contributionsArriving in Cobh on a cruise ship for a day, we looked at the local visitor center and then decided to take the train to Cork. A local girl recommended we just walk to the fort. Great advice. The fort was a great view, a nice half hour and then we wandered back trough town, The story of the fort through the centuries is interesting.Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rubylasscork170 contributionsWhat a fabulous attraction in the beautiful Crosshaven. Plenty to see, both inside and outside so still a lovely visit on a wet day. Staff were so helpful and knowledgable and when we found out that the whole place is run by volunteers, it made the visit more special. The work and effort that the volunteers put into Camden really is outstanding and they should all be commended. It is a work in progress and we will def be back in a few years to see what they have added but we still spent over 2 hours here. The views from the cafe were spectacular and well worth eating outside just to see the view. I really can’t speak highly enough of what Camden Fort is, I would recommend everyone to visit to see for yourself, what can be achieved when a group of people come together to turn a derelict site into a top tourist attraction. Well done to all involved and we look forward to returningWritten 27 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
