Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Sophie & PaulMontreal, Canada268 contributionsBeautiful setting with a historical castle in the backdrop. The grounds are superb. The interior (for the first 3 floors) was somewhat interesting. However, the cue felt like an endless crawling pace towards the summit. At our first chance we took the first possible exit and headed to the Blarney House and gardens which was by any stretch of the imagination much more interesting. Take your time to walk the gardens, and when you visit, if the timing is right, also take the guided tour of the Blarney house. Very interesting and well worth the time.Written 7 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marlee319Alpharetta, GA338 contributionsMy friend took me to this place called the English market, which is a series of little shops that serve cheeses, meats, fish, and anything you would put on your dinner table. I was overwhelmed at how much glorious food they had for sale. If I lived in Cork, I would come here every weekend to purchase fresh breads, and produce and meats and cheeses. There are many entry points into this market in Cork. Make sure you come here because it's amazing.Written 2 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ruby RCork, Ireland4 contributionsAmazing and beautiful Park. But as always, completely insufficient parking provided by local council who have given it Zero thought.Written 5 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amanda D4 contributionsLoved the castle. Loved the tour (be prepared for 100 spiral stairs!..you have been warned!) and learning of the history. But the astronomy talk was my favourite! The guide was clearly super interested in her subject matter and was engageable with the kids. A great and unique way to learn about Cork!Written 22 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BraindamagedbaronNewark-on-Trent, UK1,418 contributionsArguably the heart of Cork's retail heart. An ideal place to find all of your High Street needs from budget right up to higher end fair. And dotted around are numerous cafes and eateries giving you ample opportunity for refreshments.
Something for everyone as you meander through the side streets and find your way around.
If in Cork, visit St Patrick StreetWritten 8 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's 6 euro for adults and more for children families etc.. The staff are lovely. The place is clean. They give you noise cancelling headphones because as you go up to the top of the tower, your allowed ring the bells so you can hear the chimes of the bells. The views of Cork City are phenomenal once you get to the top and there are interesting facts about the church to read as you climb the tower. Once you get down you hand the headphones back at the desk. Would recommend visiting this place to anyone. Would go again.Written 1 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- coffeeandbooks161 contributionsThis is a hidden gem . Just outside crosshaven. The 220 bus stops right outside the fort and collects you in the Same spot again . It is so unique , you learn great history about this place , get to go in gun rooms , old sleeping quarters, underground tunnels , see a WW1 photo and model scale . The views are breathtaking too being able to see all the way to cobh , spike island , aghada, roches point , the last sighting of the Titanic . Picnic benches all over to sit and enjoy the views. Very reasonable priced at only €8 for adults .

The pizza place Oak Fire to the left as you walk in the door was one of the best pizzas I have had in a very long time and their garlic sauce. Plenty of parking outside and open till 8 pm on a Sunday.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BRIAN GLiverpool, UK116 contributionsThe fort is located a short walk from the centre of Cork and is a very interesting place to visit, especially as it is free (although donations are welcomed).
A walk around the ramparts offers some great views over Cork. In addition there is a small museum dedicated to some of the women prisoners from when the fort was used as a prison. Of particular interest was the sad story of the sinking of the prison ship Neva which sunk off Tasmania in 1835 killing most of the women and children aboard.
All in all, well worth a visit.Written 1 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Liz EDubai, United Arab Emirates25 contributions- Good range of play equipment in park

It was our first time climbing and what a fantastic experience we had! Thanks to our lovely patient & encouraging instructor Carla and to Cillian, Filip & Jean Marc for looking after our booking at the front desk. Highly recommend Awesome Walls Cork for kids (and big kids) over the summer holidays. A great way to spend an afternoon together - for kids and parents, trying a new & very enjoyable sport. We will be back before school starts!Written 5 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PhilKateCaseyCork, Ireland54 contributionsGreat selection of shops - very clean and very friendly staff in all of the shops. I was there on a Thursday and there is an outdoor market - which offers wonderful products... On the day of my visit - a lot of cars but didn't appear crowded in the Shopping centre which is great for people who don't like crowds.Written 8 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marzia DFItaly63 contributionsGreat experience, very interesting and informative even for our 5 year old! The girl who guided us through the engine room was very well prepared and entertaining, dedicating lots of time to us even though we were the only ones. She told us lots of interesting facts about the waterworks and its history. We appreciated the emphasis on energy saving too.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
