Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful campus, just to walk around, but they also organise guided tours, which are really interesting. Tours start at the visitors center.

I had to kiss the stone - it was a mandatory thing to do when visiting Ireland. We arrived around 9:15 on a sunny Saturday and worked our way up the spiral staircase to the top. Surprise, surprise there were ZERO people in line! I positioned myself, leaned back, and scooged down as far as I could to kiss the stone. Be careful when sitting up, many people get dizzy. It’s kind of difficult to bend over backwards while sliding down, but, if you are of average agility, you’ll be fine. Still amazed there was no one in line. I would not wait 60 minutes to kiss the stone, 30 minutes, maybe.

Busy street in the heart of Cork city. Variety of shops, restaurants, cafe's, souvenir's, and always something happening for entertainment. Just cant escape from visiting here for anything.

There are some really impressive statues and artefacts here that are worth exploring. Admissions is free, which was quite nice.

This is a little off the beaten track and not well known (even by people in Cork!). Everyone I spoke to in Cork, did their best to get me to go to places outside the city. Stubbornly, I went to Elizabeth Fort. This is an old fort, subsequently used as a prison and Garda HQ. It is free to look around and they are in the process of restoring the grounds.

You are free to walk around the ramparts and there is enough information here for you to work out the development of the star-shaped fort. You also get some excellent views over Cork.

Inside the old Garda station, there is a small exhibition on the history of the fort and some detail about its' use as a womens prison.

I was there for about an hour. Loved it.

Fantastic tribute to Irelands greatest son located in Béal na Bláth, Cork. It has been renovated for the centenary and looks fantastic with wheelchair accessibility included. Unfortunately the parking close by can accommodate only a few cars.

Wonderful place to visit especially if nobody else is going there. A place of quiet contemplation. Enjoy the walk down to the well.

We were the only visitors during the time we spent in the gardens. Magnificently refurbished house (a wedding venue) with beautifully restore gate lodges and a boat house, all to rent. A working farm as well as a beautiful mansion. Molana abbey, the reputed burial place of one of the first Norman invaders, Raymond Le Gros, is in the grounds. A very romantic location.

As Castle's go there isn't a lot of this one left. A short visit would be a short visit. But it is interesting to see the construction and the design of this medieval monument to feudalism. Pop over and explore...

I had walked/driven past this about a million times before I finally stopped and actually had a proper look at it. It is amazing to see something like this still around in such a constantly growing town. It is nice to see it wasn't knocked and built over when the road was built along side it.
