Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

a good 3 hours spent wandering the stalls Brought back memories of childhood visits to local indoor markets. Nothing too much trouble for stall holders and their colleagues even when harangued by wave after wave of tourists If you dont pig out on the samples on the food stalls then a must is the American style hotdog stand with made to order food

I visited the Crawford with a group of my girl friends on a weekend away in Cork and I must say what a gorgeous experience the 5 of us had! The museum is an old Georgian/Victorian era gem. A jewel in the city centre. Firstly we went to look at the Ground floor exhibition (Meat and Potatoes ?) while in here we were greeted by a lovely young lad called John. He was so warm and helpful and knew a lot about the background of the paintings and the context of the exhibition. I visit a lot of exhibitions and the workers are usually either not around or don’t know anything about the art but this young lad knew what he was talking about !! I absolutely adored the Yeats and seeing the painted biscuits. The staff upstairs were nice too. Loved the Harry Clarke room, what an asset to the city. The Crawford has a great bookshop on top of a fantastic gallery !

My husband and I avail of any opportunity to visit this beautiful Venue. The intimate coffee/wine Dock is a welcome stop off before the Cinema. The patrons who visit appear to have a genuine appreciation of the arts, as there is no popcorn munching, unwrapping of sweets or mobile phone intrusions. The City Centre venue makes for convenience and the staff are always helpful and pleasant. We look forward to receiving the weekly Schedules so that we can plan our next visit.

Popped into costa downstairs in merchants quay shopping centre to grab a morning coffee and a cheese and tomato toastie for breakfast before setting off shopping. Service was very fast efficient and friendly and we sat in lovely comfortable armchairs . My toastie was beautiful and full of flavour and not like your normal cheese and tomato toastie. It was more of a tomato and herb sauce that you,d get on a top class pizza , it was devine and it was covered with a béchamel sauce and more cheese on top. Absolutely delicious in fact so tasty we went back there for refreshments and lunch when we finished our shopping. Lovely place with plenty of seating.

It is located at the end of town (to a new tourist's eyes like me).

Plenty of good foods and fruits and lovely people!

Compare to shopping complex I prefer markets.

This is a small gallery which has a wide range of art from ceramics, to painting , prints and sculpture . The Lavitt has exhibitions for emerging artists and it is a great opportunity to get your hands on early works.
The price range is good and you can find Christmas, wedding and birthday presents. You can also get a voucher, I recently got a voucher there for a wedding. Great for the couple who has everything.

This shop has the very best cheese you will get in Cork, an absolute must for cheese lovers. My favourite is the st Andres. Their fresh pasta and pizza bases are gorgeous and their chocolate cake is out of this world. This really is a gem of a shop.

If you want to indulge in some shopping, Opera Lane is Cork's favourite shopping district. It's one of the best places to shop as they have a wide range of popular stores all on one street.
You can find Topshop, H&M, Sketchers, Topman, River Island, Compu b, Office Shoes, Tommy Hilfiger, Specsavers, Therapie and the Gap all in one convenient location. With that range of selection, you're bound to find something you want here!
It's a great place to shop if you get tired easily.
And if you're waiting for your friends or partner to finish shopping & you're all shopped out, you can stop off for a coffee at Starbucks, just at the top of the street.

Definitely the best chocolate I've ever had! No chocolate tastes as good since I've had David chocolate. Located in the English market and hand made by David himself. Absolutely would recommend! Their stirring Bailey's Hot Milk chocolate stick is divine. And the best Easter eggs 😍

Great variety of religious books and items for all ages. New secondhand area at back of shop. You could spend ages pottering about here, so much to see.
