Stunning gardens, lake, riverside etc. Much much larger than we were expecting. And a cafe too! Parking was a bit of a problem....but it was Mothers Day after all!

The sheer size of the gigantic capstone on this dolmen is awe-inspiring. Excellent co-operation between farmer and state to enable full access via walkway from small parking area at the roadside.

Went there on a school trip, it was nice and quiet and you are free to roam and explore around. There are signboards around to give you a brief summary of the historical value of the place. It was in the middle of a field and it was quite muddy as expected. Saw a herd of sheep there grazing, most likely came from the farm next to it. The surrounding area is pretty nice to, especially on a good day.

Any kind of castle, ruin or not, is interesting to me and they all seem to have stories! Unfortunately the Carlow castle ruin is now fenced off for safety after the latest storm.

Yes, it's modern art and it might not tick all your boxes but there are enough different mediums to guarantee something that will catch your attention. For me it was the digital experience and I loved the tree calendar.

Huntington Castle is truly a unique and special place. It was built in the early 1600s and still occupied by the original family. The rooms are well appointed that makes for a very comfortable stay. The gardens are beautiful with old yew trees along the path as well as several peacocks to guide the way. We had a pint at the local pub as well as a wonderful dinner at Sha-Roe restaurant in town. It is an easy walk from the castle. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.

Visited this very interesting church recently. Both outside and inside are interesting. There are some very fine features inside. I was very lucky to be there for Mass, and hear the very fine choir being accompanied by a fine organist who also played the grand piano.

Visited the museum today. A real treasure trove, could easily spend an hour looking through the impressive displays. There was also a military vehicle display on outside which added to the atmosphere. Well worth a visit!
