The walk is easy with slight inclines and the views of the waterfalls are superb especially from the stone built viewing platform that looks like a Victorian Folly.

Had a great visit to Elcho Castle yesterday Wonderful castle, mainly under cover (just in case of a shower in Scotland) with lots of nooks and crannies to explore and stunning views from the rooftop walk.
The staff are wonderful throughout all visit Scotland sites but the recommendation to visit this castle was a wonderful detour we are happy we made.

The feeling of history is awesome and the panoramic view of Loch Leven from the island is gorgeous.
The castle is in ruins but our 5 and 8 year old children loved playing musketeers and princesses whilst we took in the spectacular views ( even on a grey day) and soaked up the history.

The ceilidh band was exceptional kept the party going until the wee small hours I would highly recommend this hotel with fantastic views and walks from someone who is usually in bed before the bells

I stopped here as part of a coach party the photos were amazing of the viaduct this is where soldiers leapt to safety after Culloden the views from some advantage point are worth the photo's
