Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really chilled vibes overall. I loved the quiet music playing from the speaker - it felt very vintage. The shop assistant at the till was very friendly and struck up a conversation with every customer. The only "negative" I guess is the fact that it's quite cramped.

I was on vacation in Edinburgh with my family and stumbled upon this leather shop. You could smell the leather as soon as you opened the door, and saw the workshop in the back of the space. We left without purchasing but I kept thinking about the bags. I returned a few days later and decided to have a custom bag made. The whole process was so easy and they were very patient in working with me. I decided on a pattern and was able to pick the color of the body, the trims, the strap, etc. They even showed me the exact leather that my bag would be made from. It was such a fun seamless, process. I cannot wait to receive my bag!

I visited the Scottish Storytelling Centre for an Edinburgh World Heritage event. It was my first visit and I appreciated the light and airy setting. The first part of the event was in the Netherbow Theatre downstairs which proved to be a great venue. Afterwards there was a drinks reception upstairs in the Storytelling Court. An enjoyable visit.

The knowledge of the staff is tremendous. They took the time to help this bourbon drinking, scotch novice a couple of bottles to take back home. My wife and I enjoyed a pour soon as we returned home and are extremely happy with our purchases! Thanks for making our visit simple and enjoyable!

One of the best experiences i had in Edinburgh, the staff is really welcoming and even talked with me in my native language, wich Bryan (i believe it was his name) was learning by coincidence.

Their dark chocolate sea salt fudge is one of the best sweets i ever had, and it reminds me a lot of brazillian's "brigadeiro".

This place ia a good reason to visit the royal mile.

After going to many many gift shops (souvenir shops) on the Royal Mile, a tour guide recommended Aquila to us for the best local shortbread. The shop is filled to the brim with lovely items from local artists. Skip the souvenir shop and run to Aquila instead.

A small shop with a bit of queue outside, since entries are controlled to avoid crowding inside: always have an umbrella! It doesn’t take more than 20 minutes to visit all three floors, and the items to shop are quite interesting. Even if you’ve already been to the Warner Bros Studios and bought stuff there, it’s really worth it to also visit this tiny museum.

What an amazing journey we had with Hector. He led us down the pathway towards enlightenment of the Scottish single malt Scotch Whisky world. Hector intertwined history and Scotch as Smooth as the sumptuous Whisky he served. Highly recommended to the novice or the experienced, a must experience if you are in Edinburgh, be sure to book your experience.

We discovered this place way too late as it was just about to close when we arrived and it was our last day . So I rushed in and bought just a few incence boxes, but I felt frustrated because this shop is so lovely and offer so many different products! I didn't know where to put my eyes on. A lot of their products are handmade, and the shop owner was actually putting a final touch to some flying animals as we went to pay. Very warm atmosphere, I will definitely come again next time I visit Edinburgh to find more about this little gem!

Don't waste time on the Royal Mile and visit this place for your machine or hand-woven tartan and belongings. They will give expert advice and advise you according to your wishes. The best you can find in Edinburgh!

A beautiful store with a plethora of works from independent artists, we ended up wandering around the store for nearly an hour! Linda was absolutely phenomenal - we could not recommend this place enough!

We had been by this shop several time during previous trips to Edinburgh in the last three year, but we were always there when the shop was closed. Just looking at the window display makes you want to go in. In August of 2019 we found the shop open, and what a treat. The shop deals in historical British and world maps, and original antique prints. It is one of the quaintest shops on the Royal Mile. We bought several antique whisky prints, and could not be happier with our purchase.
