Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

n spite of the changeable weather we were able to appreciate these beautiful gardens with so many different perspectives. The rock garden was well worth it
Inverleith House had a wonderful exhibition highlighting the fact that there are 1200 species of rhodedendron and botanic gardens has two thirds of those of Asiatic origin.
It was still spring blooms rhodedendron irises and Himalayan poppies mid May

Jupiter Artland looked like the perfect day out on our road trip around Scotland with our two children (8 & 3), and it didn't disappoint!

Upon arrival a member of staff gave clear instructions on where to park and handed us a map. The map is key in finding your way around and comes with a list of artwork on the back (displayed in order of the route).

We spent 5 hours exploring the woodlands, artworks and playing on the grass mounds. Both children had very tired legs walking up the hill on the way back to the car at the end!

We didn't visit the restaurant, but the menu looked great and reasonably well priced.

Would highly recommend for all ages.

We have been spending the summer in a flat in Stockbridge. On a number of Sunday's we have walked through the Stockbridge Market. Always plenty of vendors and plenty of people. Nice place to spend a half hour. The most scenic and appetizing food vendor sells paella from huge open bubbling hot pans. We have had the seafood paella (£9.00) and found it to be less than meets the eye; virtually all overcooked rice with one shrimp and one langostino.

We went here to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia but had time to wander round the centre and have coffee. It is a very spacious area with a good mix of shops. We were there early morning so it was quiet. Modern and clean with some good eateries.

I dearly wish that the Edinburgh City Art put on a Celtic Revival Exhibition, especially a retrospective on John Duncan, one of Edinburgh's greatest artists.

There's three or four of John Duncan's paintings in the City Arts Centre. He brings such beautiful colour and detail to the canvas to bring a wonderful portrayal of Celtic folklore. You can see he was influenced by the pre-Raphaelites especially Rossetti and Italian art frescos.

The arts centre has the superb Tristan & Isolde the classic mythical Romeo & Juliet tale of forlorn love. They hold the love potion that will make them love each other for eternity, but it was not to be, Isolde is betrothed to King Mark of Cornwall. Tristan is taking Isolde on a ship from Ireland to Cornwall for her wedding. Their tale more or less ends like Romeo & Juliet.

Go across to the Scottish National Gallery and see Duncan's magnificent Saint Bride. At first glance I did not see Saint Bride, I just was mesmerised by the two angels. The designs on their cloaks details Christ's story. Wonderful.

Not really a shopping centre to be honest. Just a collection of several shops on one floor of the train station (plus a food court below). Still a couple of high end shops and a small Sainsbury's.

Not a large market but has a good range of businesses & products, lovely location next to the castle and well arranged. Certainly worth a visit for both locals & tourists.

A wonderful find. It was fabulous watching the weavers work. They have a free viewing gallery from 12-3 p.m. that you can observe weavers at work. They also have different kinds of weavers which was very interesting.

Well done to the young staff here who were busy but took time to help us. Their care about a young person with severe allergies was excellent. Top marks for getting this important part of hospitality right

A lucky find for lunch in Leith. We stumbled on this place by chance, initially for coffee and stayed on for food. The coffee could have been hotter, but the food from Rost was amazing - pheasant burger and venison burger both delicious and the best fries ever - crispy and So good with oregano seasoning. We will be back 😊

Harvey Nichols, Edinburgh is located on the beautiful and quiet St Andrew Square, it is a smaller version than the other ones. The collection displayed are less fashionable. The café on top was crowded on a Sunday. None of staff wore face covering. I wanted to do my nails on the ground floor, but was reluctant because non of the ladies were wearing face masks.

Excellent Saturday Market. Busy but not too busy. A good place to meet and chat or just browse. We bought fresh fish and vegetables and they were all totally delicious.
