We went to the Malvern Hills for a couple of days as a young family. Despite a bit of moaning about hills the kids loved it. It’s so beautiful and the hills are well maintained and kept clean of rubbish which makes a significant difference.

Some amazing stained glass windows. I really liked the modern ones in the millennium section. Also 15th century carvings in the misery seats. It’s where the monks sat. Having works done at the moment but still a place to take time to have a look.

Definitely worth the walk. The scenery is stunning. On a sunny day you can see for miles in all directions. Paths of different gradients and surfaces so sensible shoes required and bringing a water bottles with you is a good (plus a couple of hair clips in your pocket if a windy day!) Beautiful area.

Small and incredibly fascinating museum within the former Benedictine Abbey gatehouse. Entirely run by friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, it’s an amazing place, oozing history and full of stories of Malvern from the Devonian to present day. There is an option of using a handheld audio thingy or you can wander through at your own pace and read the information boards en route. We did both! There is a set of stairs up to the first floor but they are not too difficult. Upstairs has a wealth of information on local history, bicycle manufacturers, Morgan Motors, the rise of the spa town, Dickens, Darwin and Elgar. A superb place to spend 1 - 2 hours. Highly recommended.

The path up the Herefordshire Beacon (which is neither wheelchair nor pushchair friendly) is, in some places, gentle and, in others, fairly steep but the views from it are magnificent. Herefordshire Beacon is also known as The British Fort as there are the remains of an Iron Age hillfort. The original earthworks of the fort are still visible as large grassy banks. This is one place which should not be missed if you are visiting the Malvern Hills. Parking is available in a public car park (£5.00 for the day)

On a September Saturday morning Nick gave a fascinating, informative, and fun history tour. He explained the geology of the Malvern Hills and took us by a fountain with pure water from the Malvern Hills. This water gave rise to the water cure in 1842. We learned about the two doctors who started the cure and many of the famous guests including Charles Darwin and his daughter, plus one scandal. We also heard about composer Edward Elgar, C.S. Lewis and his Narnia lamps. Nick's delivery was engaging and cordial.

Wonderful modern theatre with food. Car parking, plenty of it, literally steps away. Beautiful town, though VERY hilly!!

A lovely park with a Victorian bandstand and an impressive mansion. I’m sure in warmer weather this would be a lovely place to chill. Worth a walk through. I did this as part of the Malvern town guided walk on my phone. Not bad to get a feel of the place. Took about 2 hours but with stops in book shops and pretty shops.

A beautiful and interesting garden tucked away near the Malvern Hills. A hidden gem…but when you’ve been once you’ll want to visit again so we bought a season ticket and will be back to discover all the different snowdrops around the garden walk in Feb. National collection of Asters so Sept/Oct is a great time to see those.

Good selection of Asters for sale and lots of succulents, some choice ones too.

    Friendly family atmosphere.

Parking could limited at peak times, but we had no problems.

    Recommended.

Super example of a Victorian railway station with beautifully painted flourishes, currently undergoing renovation.
Obviously as an engineering nerd I had to have a look at the "worm tunnel" that used to lead from the station to the Imperial Hotel, you can see the top from the railway bridge and the blocked off entrance on the platform.
I can hear you all shouting NERD, but I don't care!!

Visited with a friend to do the Betrayal of Cluetankhamun Escape Room. It is the hardest one, and there were only 2 of us, but I’d booked it after one too many glasses of wine when my confidence was abnormally high. No spoilers at all but it was soooo good!! We had a fab time, all the staff we encountered were polite and friendly and the staff member who supervised our hour in the tomb was great. I’m not gonna lie, it was challenging but the storyline was good and there was a good mix of different puzzles to solve. The last few minutes were especially panic-stricken, but we escaped with only 22 seconds left on the clock! Great value for money and would highly recommend it. Oh, and we’re still friends so all is good 😊

Good quality snacks. Very convenient location. Can be a bit slow when busy or a group arrives. Overall well worth a visit.
