Really enjoyed our 2 days. The first day was spent seeing the Vincent Van Gogh exhibition, and we had a wonderful experience.

Located along The Strand in the Somerset House building, the Courtauld Gallery is a "must" with that room on the first floor that leaves you breathless.

One after the other: Seurat, Degas, Cezanne, Gaugain, Pissarro, Sisley, Toulouse Laurec, Signac...(surely forgot some).

Shall i move forward? Of course, because in front of Van Gogh or to the Manet of "Bar aux folies bergeres" you remain enraptured for a long time.

    With the Modigliani's nude alongside.

Not only impressionist painters, many other thing to watch.

Here you have to buy ticket, ten pounds good value for two house full immersion in masterpieces.

We were in London for a show and my girlfriend saw that there was a Francis Bacon exhibition which might be interesting. The tickets sell out fast but we managed to get a couple for a viewing in a couple of hours. Rather than leave, we went to see the Taylor Wessing exhibit, which was worth every penny. Some thought provoking and emotional photos were in the competition and a chance to cast your vote for your favourite.

Really impressive displays, worth going even if you’re not planning to buy anything. No queue outside to get in so that was really handy. Recommend getting a lego passport for free so you can collect free stamps in different cities as a nice souvenir.

We had purchased tickets in the grand circle for our family group of six ( our children selected the show). When booking we noted the option to pay for the ‘Ambassador Lounge’. So glad we did. This was the absolute highlight of our month long Europe trip. We were whisked down to a themed cosy lounge by Richard and Emma. Complimentary drink and snacks plus Richard did our merchandise shopping for us and bought it to the room. He also appropriately pointed out our seats were high up in the grand circle and offered us a great deal on upgrading (to much better seats). There was only another couple in the lounge so we really felt special plus private toilet . At intermission we went to the lounge for ice cream and could even take our bottle of wine back to seats. Richard was an absolute treasure and really took care of us. The show was amazing even though there were two cast replacements due to illness. Great music and special effects. Thoroughly recommend.

From entering the seedy backstreet that leads to the Kit Kat club to the beginning of the show , this is a very different theatre visit. The bars each have a different atmosphere with talented musicians and performers.
The show is in the round and I would think most seats would have a clear view. I was only too pleased to cover my camera as it meant my view wasn’t blocked by a forest of phones and no flashes distracted audience and performers.
The performance itself was really enjoyable (different from the film) and has sexual content in parts which might make you think twice if taking younger people along. Also it helps to have a knowledge of 1930s Germany. The second half is very moving and gives you pause to think!
I loved the music and the musicians who added greatly to the show.
I would have given 5 stars but my son on the end seat by the door was distracted by noise from the bar and the open door.

The gallery is quite small so it can get crowded just due to spatial reality. I would focus on an exhibit you want to see then go - the permanent collection is good but only about 5 rooms. I am a fan of Monet so I found the exhibit worth it and well curated.

My visit to the Prince of Wales Theatre was magical. The grandeur of the venue and the captivating performances left me spellbound. The seating was comfortable, and the acoustics were exceptional, making for an immersive theatrical experience. The current production was a delightful blend of humor, drama, and music, perfectly executed by the talented cast. The theater's history and heritage were also evident in its architecture and decor, adding to the charm. A perfect evening out for theater lovers and a must-see during a trip to I bought a railcard on trainpal and got a 20% discount when I entered the RC777E code! Hope to help those who come to the UK to play~

At the heart of Trafalgar Square stands Nelson’s Column, a towering monument dedicated to Admiral Lord Nelson, one of Britain’s greatest naval figures. A 183-foot granite monument overlooks the square's fountains and bronze reliefs.

Wanna know some fascinating story about why this huge square is dedicated to Mr Nelson? Continue reading then-

Although the Battle of Trafalgar proved to be a glorious victory for the British, Nelson himself paid the ultimate price, struck down by a French musket shot during the chaotic fighting. Nelson’s body was repatriated to England and given a hero’s burial at St. Paul’s Cathedral. To honor the fallen admiral, a 50-meter-tall Corinthian column was erected in the center of Trafalgar Square between 1840 and 1843 to designs by William Railton.

The pedestal is decorated with four bronze reliefs depicting various battles in which Nelson was involved during his illustrious career, cast using bronze melted down from captured French cannons. Surmounting the column is a 5.5-meter-tall sculpture of Nelson, carved from sandstone by the sculptor Edward Hodges Baily. Four lions, meanwhile surround the base, designed by the eminent painter and sculptor Edward Landseer.

Visiting on a weekend, Benjamin Franklin House was nestled against the southern side of Charing Cross Station, Trafalgar Square. We arrived mid-morning and at a time that allowed immediate access to the house, as we thought it would be busy. I was not aware that Benjamin Franklin, lived in London from 1757 to 1775. Ten years later in October 1785, Franklin whose image appears on the US$100 note, became the 6th President of Pennsylvania and was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. It's was great to see the historic significance of the house continuing to be maintained during these changing time, with the residence without proper furnishings, was very basic.

One of the best musicals I have seen. I wasn’t sure what to expect but from the first minute I was loving it. The performers were incredible, their voices, energy and timing was perfection. It felt like we were their only audience. The songs were so easy to listen to and each word could be heard. I couldn’t stop laughing. Totally recommend this, so glad we booked. Highlight of our trip to London.

Victoria Embankment is on the North side of the River Thames. It stretches from Blackfriars to Westminster and the Houses of Parliament.

You can cycle, drive or walk and there are separate cariageways for each of these methods of transport.

I would recommend walking along the embankment as you will get to see so much more. You can take in the various monuments, statues and little details compared to if you whizz past. For example check out the ornate benches and what makes up the bases of them.

In addition there is glorious scenery to enjoy like the South Bank, the Eye and the former County Hall.

    Highly recommended.
