Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an easy station to navigate, arriving from the underground, platforms are straight in front of you. Most staff are helpful.

The journey was exactly as it said, quick on time. Down side is there is a long walk from terminal 2 to the station although terminal 5 was closer. I got a family ticket but you scan that and the gate only allows for 1 person to pass through not the whole group

We arrived from the Northern line on our way to ‘The Old Vic’, which was a short walk away.

Someone mentioned in a review that it was like an airport and certainly the long travellator on the way back to the Northern Line northbound platform was just like in an airport.

I’m amazed how every year the Underground system gets better and better. I guess it’s one of the reasons so many people want to live in London where property prices are high.

This railway mainly travels above ground and gives good views on East London. The trains are driverless and you can sit right in front looking out onto the railway in a driver's position.

My trip on the Eurostar was one primarily done for business and leisure, after the planes were prevented from moving between England and France, I was left no other choice than the Eurostar, so I endeavoured to make the best of an unfortunate circumstance.

I booked my ticket, and although the seatings were lovely and spacious, the sites beautiful and miraculous, something was lamentable.

I refer to non-other than the substandard service of a member of staff aboard the Eurostar, of whom, displayed a most displeasing and repugnant attitude.

This was demonstrated through the facial expressions and tone of voice she displayed, one of pure disgust, when I simply mentioned that I would like to forego my starter and desert.

The distasteful nature of this servant left nothing more than an equally distasteful experience in both my mind and mouth during this arduous voyage.

Did this servant believe for one moment that 'I' of all people wanted to frequent the 'Eurostar'?

hah, a propstuous assumption by a petty servantile ingrained.

Needless to say, to hail furthermore to my forgiving and altruistic nature, I simply ignored these clear slights at what is most clearly a being she should not look at, and thus my adventure continued; the consumption of both starter and desert a forced curse placed upon me by this undisciplined upstart in matters of culinary delicacies.

Finding myself mindlessly chewing, with no thought, nor desire, nor will of my own, this desert, which could only be described as appauling, not by fault of it's taste or texture, but by the simple fact that it had not permitted me to exercise my free will, my journey had soon come to an end and the bane of said journey, perhaps still gallivanting at a cost of my demise.

Take from this cautionary tale what you will, is this an calamity you wish to befall you?

Heed it well as you ponder over whether you would care to utilise the 'service' of the 'Eurostar'.

May God bless you all, dear fellows, and I pray-hope that my review be of use to you.

    Regards,

    A maltreated customer.

I used their services on the Gatwick Airport - Victoria route and back. The train is clean, fast, you have free access to Wi-Fi, the seats are comfortable. Tickets are expensive. Unfortunately, on the way there, the train had a breakdown and we had to take another train, from an intermediate station.

Our train was cancelled but I just wanted to mention how good the staff were. They were very knowledgable and friendly and gave us an alternative route to get us home.

I've wanted to take the Caledonian Sleeper up to Scotland for a while, and had an opportunity courtesy of company business.

Personally I think for business and practical travellers the cabin size and arrangement works (of course if you have 4x30kg suitcases with you that's going to be a nightmare... be realistic). If you want to avoid the crowds on the early evening train, plus the hotel bill and just want the fun experience of overnight travel (like me), I would book a Classic Room and then you won't have to complain about the other 'luxury' elements (toilets, showers, food, coffee etc) not being up to scratch and will have saved yourself some money.

I've no doubt that some people booking Double or Club rooms will be disappointed, the level of luxury is somewhat oversold and not commensurate to the price. But why do I say that? It's not the food and drink...and the shower is probably unnecessary so just forget about the water pressure being good on a train.

It's because they forgot the basics!!!

The basic requirement of a 'luxury' sleeper train is that it should be exceptional for sleeping. i.e. the ride comfort and noise levels need to be best in class. And, frankly, the British Rail engineers of the 1970's had a better idea of how to achieve that than the people who designed this train. (the UK lost our capability to design & build trains long ago, which is partly to blame... another long story).

Please, Caledonian Sleeper, redouble your efforts to improve the soundproofing and ride comfort for sleeping - if it means installing covers over noisy areas and replacing mattresses with slightly thicker versions that's fine, it's the end result that matters not how you get there. Get your engineers onto it.

For the time being I will be recommending - for light sleepers the following interim solution which works for me:

    - a Classic Room
    - some quality ear plugs or the provided ones
    - the provided sleep mask is good
    - noise cancelling headphones with Spotify set to loop White Noise (ESSENTIAL)
    - 2x sleeping tablets taken prior to boarding.
    - board early, skip breakfast order and maximise the sleeping time.

    Enjoy your trip / holiday!

This underground station must be one of the coldest in London. It's drafty even in summer. However, the staff cannot be held responsible for their surroundings. Recently I observed one employee go beyond the call of duty to help passenger after passenger understand where to go. He was so patient and good-humoured.

I had to travel back on the busiest service of the day which is usually the 7.30pm from Paddington to Stroud - the service that ends in Cheltenham - the service was extremely crowded and as usual there were only 5 carriages on - this service is consistently busy every day in the week - and really needs more carriages as by the time the train is pulling into London the aisles are packed with standing passengers. It’s hugely annoying that GWR are more than happy to keep selling tickets with no seats seemingly available - even if they have to honour a contractual obligation to allow for walk up fares - the point is they should add more coaches to the service. I’ve seen 9 coach trains on this line - so having a 6 coach service surely must be an option?

Wednesday 2nd October and we travelled from Crawley to London Bridge Station via Thameslink.

The Station is the UK's fourth busiest station. It also has an underground station, which opened in June 1839. The new Bus Station, at the front of the Station, opened in 2012.

Located next-door to the Station is the iconic build, The Shard, which stands at 310 metres (1,016 feet) high. It has ninety-five storeys with level seventy-two the highest habitated floor.

Looking to find the Station, search the skyline, locate The Shard, walk towards it and end up at the Station.

The original Station open on the 14th December 1836, a 188 years ago. Throughout it's history it has undergone a number of rebuilds. The most recent was between 2009 to 2017, reopening in 2018 with Thameslink as an addition. It is now a modern spacious station with fifteen platforms.

Large escalators, staircases and lifts transport passengers around the Station and to and from the Underground

On the concourse there are a variety of outlets and eateries.

We found locating the platform, for our return journey, a bit of a puzzle as the information boards unhelpful.

I travelled from London to Lewes and the outbound train had huge delays before eventually bring cancelled. So the train I then got was ridiculously full (and on a hot day).
The return same thing delayed, eventually cancelled I had to wait 25 minutes for a train in the end.Terrible service with lame excuses that those around me told me were constant in this line.Avoid if you possibly can!!

But only if you are using Elizabeth Line.

Great to have street to train level step free access, even although the lifts and routes are out of the way and convoluted.

Thought the tube train service was good but the train carriages were very tired, the buses were plentiful but regrettably the customer service shown by the drivers was poor. It was almost as if they hated to give any advice on destinations.
