Being 2 Scousers visiting London for 2 nights to see a concert at West Hams ground, we chose to use the Underground to get around.

Me and my daughter are jealous of you Londoners having such a fantastic facility to get from A-B at such a low cost.

Trains seemed to be one after the other so no waiting around and the maps which then were broken down into individual routes helped us greatly.

I have to mention the gentleman underground railway worker at Holborn Underground who pointed me and my youngest daughter in the right direction for District Line and the Temple Station "keep to the left and follow the road to the front" he said, perfect. Our phones had died and we were just relying on our sense of direction but got lost.

You have great people working for you even with the accent i've got and a great asset. Thank you for being there.

The Emirates Cable Car provides an excellent view of London along the Thames. I recommend taking the cable car only one way as you shall see the same sights on the return trip.

Wow! If you are in London then don’t miss this spectacular railway station.
It was nearly demolished but thankfully it was saved.
The £800m renovation project around the early 2000’s transformed it into the most fabulous station with high end shopping & eating available.
    It’s truly stunning!

London Kings Cross can’t be compared to St Pancras this station for its beauty & high end shopping experience but it’s still iconic & well worth a visit.
Lots of cafes & eating is available, mostly at a lower end & price point than St Pancras.
If you are travelling in/out using LNER the First Class lounge is great, comfortable & the staff are ultra helpful.

4 rides at 1.65 pounds each with the Oyster card then you can ride the rest of the day for 'free'. Also you can sit, relax and enjoy the view.

Visited on Wednesday 23rd June 2021 As part of a day trip to London. Woolwich Ferry. It was still free and my first time on it since I went on it as part of the circular cycle around East London back in 2012. I exited the King George V DLR Station and walked the rather decrepit streets the short distance to the Woolwich Ferry. You can queue with your vehicle or walk under the Thames using the foot tunnel. I chose to queue and as there was only 1 of the 2 Ferrys in operation the time to wait was circa 20-30 mins. Once the Ferry was on my side, you could access the ferry and either stand in the open or the covered side seating area. The ferry takes about 10 mins to empty its vehicle and people contents and be refilled. The crossing takes about 10 mins and provides a free view down the Thames. Once in Woolwich, it is a similarly poor/decrepit area of now South London. Either way, unless you have a reason to use this free ferry there is little value to doing so.

Shambolic service, continuously delayed, poor explanation and non existent compensation service. If there was an alternative this company would not exist

The train it’s self is comfortable however it is never really on time, it is always late.
And sometimes cancelled. The longer distance trains are much better but can sometime the punctuality.

Russell Square Tube station is in Central London on the Picadilly Line. There are trains running through Central London from Heathrow Airport, Uxbridge, Cockfosters and Leicester Square is only a couple of stops away with Covent Garden and Picadilly Circus also nearby.

The station does not have any escalators. Although there are lifts there is sadly no step free access as there are steps from the platform to the lifts.

The station is close to Russell Square which is a nice area to sit in good weather and there are quite a number of hotels nearby.

When I visited I did not encounter any staff but I am sure they were available if necessary.

The seats on Thameslink trains have so little padding, by the end of a journey it feels as if you've been repeatedly kicked up the backside. They also have an annoying announcement where a man says "If you see somethink suspicious..." Somethink! How hard is it to say a word properly?

Perhaps my least favourite Train station in London.
Even getting there from the Tube feels unsafe.
Considering how busy it is & the well healed people that must use it, it's pretty shabby.
    Even Peterborough Station is nicer!

As always I enjoyed using TFL subway and buses during my 6 day visit to London. Appreciated their efforts to get passengers to wear masks. Most folk seemed to wear them on buses but fewer on underground.

Nice way to link the Tates. At busy times best not to tap on to pay until the boat arrives and you know it is not full.
Not great on boarding advice - people not really told what to do unless they did it wrong, however it is pretty obvious that you need to stand well back until invited to board!
Great way to see London from the water.
