Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is wonderful and unique. I really enjoy spending time in this museum. First of all, it's free and allows you to enter as many times as you want without worrying about ticket fees. Second, it is very rich and many works from all over the world can be seen there. Finally, the division of the museum is really regular. I recommend visiting the temporary exhibitions, which are not free.

Visited as part of our tour package. When we visited in the morning time, the Museum was moderately crowded. We entered the museum without any wait. The museum has sufficient collections of wax figures. While most of the figures are good to see, few figures may be needing more precision. The 4D film was a good experience. One needs to plan sufficient visit time to cover the museum. Overall, a good experience.

It was a good fun experience, quite scary especially for the children with actors who follow you and jump out behind you. The scenery is realistic and well done, but it is so dark that you cannot fully appreciate it. Short however and expensive for what it is.

Just wanted to thank Maria for a short but informative presentation concerning the fate of pets of passengers on the Titanic. I must admit that this is something I had never considered, but she did a quite nice job.

We caught the Uber boat and was pleasantly surprised by what we found. This beautiful boat has been restored to its grandeur. The way it is presented is amazing. So much history.

I have visited LTM several times over the past 20 years and I love it! I live 120 miles away but still make a special trip just to visit. There is plenty for everyone; a comprehensive history of all forms of public transport in the city, from river boats and horse-drawn coaches right up to the Elizabeth line, and how it not only impacted residents but drove the growth and expansion of the suburbs; models and films showing tunnelling techniques and how the tube is arranged under the city; vintage vehicles of all kinds, some with films inside for a simulated experience; many, many artefacts; a play area and plenty of hands-on stuff for kids; poignant exhibits such as comparing how people have used underground stations as shelters during wartime in the past and present, and stories of the Windrush immigrants who were employed by London Transport. They also have a temporary exhibition gallery which, at this time, has a display of LT posters dating from the past 125 or so years, including examples of the original artwork and drafts. I immensely enjoyed a 30-minute tour of this gallery, delivered by a wonderful guide called Rowan, who explained about the different artists and styles, and opened my eyes to how much thought and effort goes into the promotional materials for the network.

I spoke to a couple of staff positioned around the gallery and both were friendly and chatty, filling me in on the changes since my last visit. Entrance to the museum is managed well, with minimal queueing time, something I was glad of since it was raining and there’s no under cover queueing area!

A word of warning; it is very very noisy! And can be very busy and full of children, as you might expect! The museum building is quite small as museums go, and although the space is used well, there are a limited number of vehicles, so if you are more interested in looking at vintage vehicles and rolling stock than the history of the network as a whole, you might enjoy the depot at Acton more. But me? I love it!

The museum is free to enter and the nearest DLR station is West India Quay. The staff are very friendly and proactive, welcoming us as soon as we entered. There are nine different galleries to see starting with life in the 1600 and working through to the creation of the modern docklands area. You start the visit on the top floor and gradually work your way down to the ground floor. As well as touring the various exhibits we joined a talk being held by one of the very knowledgeable staff members. Will certainly come back.

Interesting museum over three floors. My highlights were the clocks: the grandfather clock from 1740, and more importantly, the hall shelf clock that was there when Dickens lived in the house.

fascinating place to visit if you have any interest in anatomy or medicine. Lots to see and take in. We wandered in around 2 hours and could have taken longer but was in need of lunch.

Been past here many times and as it was raining and entrance was a mere ÂŁ8 thought why not give it a go. It was actually fun. The guy at the front desk was engaging and entertaining. To get the most out of it you need to read the info - very grim conditions for people who simply got into debt. If that was the case these days we would all be locked up. Throw in some old fashioned torture machinery and devices and a ghoulish trip back in time

We decided to investigate what is clearly a commercial tourist attraction with prices and queues to match. However, we enjoyed the atmospheric nature (very creaky floors!) of the museum which was stuffed full of memorabilia of the era portayed in Conan-Doyle's novels. Also good history of film and TV Sherlock Holmes coverage. One could almost believe it was not fictional!. The gift shop next door, although equally pricy but separately accessible without charge, has a lot of quality items for sale and is in a very atmospheric building of its own.

Also have a look at the impressive Sherlock Holmes statue at the front of Baker Street station nearby.

I had no idea this museum existed until I had to take my daughter for an appointment at Great Ormond St. Hospital. I checked the map to see if there were any attractions near by and I realised The Charles Dickens museum and The Postal Museum were within walking distance. It really was a lovely visit. The children enjoyed wearing the uniforms and doing the interactive activities. The staff were very attentive to my autistic daughters needs especially during the ride on the Mail Rail. Thankyou for a wonderful visit, we hope to come again soon as the admission tickets give you free access to the museum again for 1 year.
