Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were so lucky to have gone when we did, there was hardly anyone by the gates! The photos were fantastic! Tried to make the guards crack a smile, they are good! the gardens are so pretty across the street. it is obviously a tourist thing to do. But, a must.

A must see when in London. Church is beautiful. Outside part reminds me of Harry Potter. Cool to see Stephen Hawking grave/tile? The unknown soldier and the coronation chair are pretty cool to see as well. The history here…. Just go!

Amazing place to check out. They have a variety of tour options from self guided audio tours to small group guided tours. Audio tour was very informative and the buildings were gorgeous.

Piccadilly Circus is a road junction and public space at London with busy traffic movement. It is close to several shopping and entertainment areas. The Circus is particularly known for its video display and neon signs mounted on the building. Major traffic junction as well as several shopping and entertainment options has made Piccadilly Circus a busy meeting place and a tourist hotspot. When we visited, the place was bustling with tourists. It was an enjoyable visit

We wanted to see a free museum which would take about an hour and read that this was an opulent looking house which was worth a visit even with no art displays! It was wonderful with huge chandeliers and fireplaces with mirrors. There were collections of paintings, armour, clocks, weapons, a few portraits and furniture. The age of some small paintings was incredible and back to the 14th century. We enjoyed looking at the horse armour the most. We didn't go there but there was a lovely courtyard food area which was very popular. This museum is highly recommended to adults who have some free time but don't want to dedicate a whole afternoon to a visit. We stayed for an hour and a half in the end.

I was of two minds when I was deciding whether or not to visit - it's the prime meridian, so I thought I ought to since I was already in Greenwich, but astronomy is really not my thing. I'm so glad I went!! It was very interesting to see the evolution of the observatory and how astronomers evolved the setting of the meridian line, and which ones carry through even to today. Also interesting to see their historic instruments and how the lodgings evolved with the family size and needs of the royal astronomers over time.

One watchout - if you are walking up to the observatory from the Queens House or Maritime museum - Google maps says that it's a relatively flat half mile walk. IT'S NOT RELATIVELY FLAT. I'm fairly fit and I was huffing and puffing on the steep walk up to the observatory. I think there is car access - that's definitely the better way to go unless you're up for a light workout.

Just returned from a hugely enjoyable trip to London visiting HMS Belfast, it really is a must visit if you are taking a break in London. I was surprised at how much of the ship was accessible to the public with lots of short videos of the sailors who manned the various parts of ship to make Belfast a fighting unit.
Thanks to all the IWM volunteers especially the two Marks, who are doing an excellent job of making you feel welcome onboard and have extensive knowledge of the ship and the period of history in which Belfast served , their passion and enthusiasm for the vessels history is remarkable.
A special mention for Alan who gives a must attend talk on the contribution and sacrifice of the men of the Merchant Navy who sailed the treacherous and dangerous Arctic convoys
Alan delivers his talk on convoy pq13 with such passion and emotion to ensure his audience understood the full contribution these men of the Merchant Navy made to the war effort.

Some parts of the Kensington Palace grounds are free. These include the Kensington Gardens, the Cradle Walk and the Sunken Garden, with its new memorial statue of Princess Diana.
However to go through the palace itself, you will have to have a ticket.
We decided against this partly because of mixed reviews and partly because we were time-limited and had to make some tough decisions about what to see and what to skip.
Instead we walked around the free parts. We were very moved by the public memorial to Princess Diana at the palace front gates.
A kind of grass-roots movement has turned the gates of Diana’s former home into a shrine.
Photos, hand-made posters, a small sea of bouquets and lots of personal mementoes and hand-written letters make it clear how deeply she captured people’s hearts and imagination.
Her sudden death in 1997 shocked the world. A lot of us still vividly remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news. Nevertheless it was nearly 28 years ago so it was very moving to see the way that people still actively remember her. We watched for a while as people arrived with flowers and quietly found a spot to place them.
There are several official memorials to Diana in the Kensington grounds (the Diana Memorial Walk, the Memorial Playground and the Sunken Garden statue) but the Palace gates one is the most moving of them all.

Absolute must visit if you are a music fan or Beetles fan or just history fan.. But this is a live street with lots of traffic and its not that easy to get your opportunity to get a picture in.. as there is always tons of tourists. Feel kind of bad for the locals as they navigate tourists standing in the middle of the street. Great spot to visit but please be considerate of locals and others trying to take photos. In the half hour we were there we saw few tourists "get into it" because one group would not leave the walkway to let others take photos

We caught the Uber boat and was pleasantly surprised by what we found. This beautiful boat has been restored to its grandeur. The way it is presented is amazing. So much history.

Beautiful historical building, so much maritime heritage to see, and the tours of the Painted Hall were excellent. So much more to see in the surrounding area as well.

This area of the Palace is the central hub of transportation whether that be by horse, carriage or car and has responsibility for all livery and harness.
There are many fine examples of state coaches to view and photograph including the Town Coach, Queen Alexandra’s State Coach, the Glass Carriage and the Diamond Jubilee Coach. There are information boards on each so you can learn more about their origins etc.

The piece de resistance of the carriage display, however, has to be the Gold State Coach which is displayed in it's own separate cavernous space to allow visitors to view it as if in action complete with horses and grooms.

The exhibition also includes information about the horses, groomsmen, tack etc

We enjoyed it and felt it was worth the visit
