This was a great experience as part of English wine week. There are probably many people reading this saying that has to be an oxymoron, England wine can't exist in the same sentence, but visit Blackbook Winery in an arch under the railway line near Battersea and you will be both surprised and impressed. This was a guided wine tasting of the wines they produce from grapes grown within 200km, and we tried sparkling, still whites (the 2022 Chardonnay from Clayhill Vineyard in Essex was the best) and even some funky reds. I learnt so much. It was fun, the wines were good, and the story fascinating. They are also open on certain evenings where I think you can buy wines with some food, and if you want to promise someone an experience that is really different, a visit to this urban winery will definitely tick all boxes. Lovely people.
