Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

    Four tips for a visit.
    1. Keep in mind there are two locations. The Courtauld Institute, near Kings Cross, is the school. The Gallery, where all the paintings are, is off the Strand in the Covent Garden area.
    2. Unlike a sprawling general art museum such as the wonderful National, the Courtauld features a small collection of stunning gems, especially the Impressionists. Think of Manet’s Bar at the Folies Bergere and Van Gogh’s bandaged ear. But masterpieces range from the Middle Ages forward.
    3. Plan a visit around one of the special exhibitions or tours and get tickets in advance. I bought a membership to gain preferred access to last winter’s Monet show and thought it was worth it.
    4. You can do it in an hour, but you will want more time. The Café is good for a break, but for lunch there are many better restaurants in the area. For my interests, the gift shop was only worth a quick glance.

Christmas shop was great loved the lay out. Tasters were great particularly the lady on walkers shortbread and the Selfridge tea. The Selfridge tea lady was really friendly and helpful and I bought the tea because of her! Shop was very crowded but I guess that is inevitable.

There is a great selection of toys which make it exciting for kids, some prices of things are expensive some are surprisingly reasonable. The lifts are terrible if you have a buggy you will be very frustrated and wait for a long time, people there are also very selfish, many people not needing a lift will take them instead of the escalators. We enjoyed walking around and seeing different toys you don't see everywhere, we would however go again when its not so busy. Either early when it opens or at a different time of year.

Today I visited M&M world and purchased some of your official M&M merchandise in the form of pyjamas and a mug. There was a great range of products and plenty of giant comical M&Ms to have your photos taken with.

The only reason I haven’t given five stars is simply because there is no fitting room to try on any of the clothing; this would be handy as the bulk of the customers, like myself, are likely tourists and day trippers which makes it difficult to return things if they aren’t right (I had to take a punt on my pyjamas living 3 hours away! Luckily they fit!)

Also be prepared for the shop to be crowded and rather loud, particularly in the afternoon and early evening, as is the case with any attraction.

All in all it was a pleasant trip and I enjoyed browsing the large collection of merchandise.

We love Harry Potter. We were excited to come to King's Cross Station one day to see Platform 9 3/4 (we did not wait in line to take a photo at the wall. I took a photo of just the wall without us in it). The store is very cool. We got a couple great souveniers.

Busy but huge store to fulfil all your clothing needs. Only issue we faced there was a long queue at the check out and staff wasn't this friendly and didn't apologise for the length of wait.

I came to buy props for a runway show. There are some great stalls with sellers with amazing antique wares, and a few with the normal cheap jewellery tat.

My minus point would be some of the indoor area sellers are pretty grumpy and unhelpful. Give them a miss and stay outside where there are. some great sellers with very interesting wares, are well informed and happy to help you make your purchase.

(My favourites are the two tables selling Roman jewellery and antiques!)

The best!! I love seeking out bookstores everywhere I travel but have yet to find any that compare. The organization by location is just brilliant; I could (and often do) spend hours here browsing and always bring home more than I planned.

Sloane Street comes off Sloane Square and there are a number of fancy shops along this street. The majority of these are out of most people's price range but it's nice to dream.

It's quite easy to get to from Sloane Square tube station which is served by the Circle and District lines.

This is the original Twinings Tea shop at 216 Strand across from the Royal Courts of Justice. Opening hours are around 11am to 6pm daily. The shops is both a retail shop and museum, making it a fun place to visit for fans of the international tea brand.

It started off as Tom's Coffee House in 1706 named after founder Thomas Twining. As tea drinking became fashionable in the 18th-century, Twining shifted its focus towards dry tea hence the business that we have and know today. It is an interesting place to pop in and have a look around regardless if you are here to purchase tea or not.

I am fascinated by the WWII period in Britain, especially rationing and life on the home front. Being used to American bookstores, I expected to be greeted with "you want what???". Instead a very helpful young man directed me to two huge sections of books about life in Britain during WWII, and suggested some other parts of the store that might have good reading as well. I spent three hours deciding how many books my suitcase would hold, and he recommended ordering the others off their website because shipping was less than ordering in store. I have lauded Foyle's to everyone I know!

The Cyber Dog store is a haven for sci-fi and cyberpunk enthusiasts! Walking in feels like stepping into a futuristic world, with neon lights and pulsing techno music. The clothing is like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, with vibrant colors, metallic fabrics, and cool, tech-inspired accessories. It's a bit pricey, but the quality and uniqueness of the designs make it worth it. The staff are super friendly and just as into the cyber aesthetic, which makes the experience even more fun. If you love geeky, futuristic fashion, Cyber Dog is definitely the place to check out.
