One of the best waterfalls in the Owen Sound Area! It has paid parking, and you can make your way right down to the bottom of the falls, not far at all from hairrson Park Camping Grounds!

Beautiful Park, with Camping, Large Basketball grounds in the summer, Turned into an ice rink in the winters. Shallow pool with outdoor swimming opened to the public during the summers. Walk through the park to find a small waterfall after walking through a board walk (Near Pool Area) On the one side of the park there is a very large playground for children, and mini golf (Not up to date) along with Canoe rentals etc. This park also has a wonderful hiking/walking path that takes you through the forrest along the water of the campgrounds!

It is an approximate 700 m walk from hte free parking area. Near the falls it is a bit steep but that is not a long part of the distance. Due to the rocks and tree roots you should wear good shoes.

It was Archives Awareness Week when we visited Grey Roots. It has a huge parking lot and is a very sizeable building with large capacity in their washrooms. This place has ambition!

And they match their ambitions with a large museum space with a large set of artifacts, some of which are explained in text and some of which you have to dial into rotary telephones to hear their stories - which was really cute. You can really get a sense of the 200 years of history in the county and surrounding area.

And that is BEFORE you get to the print room, which is crowded with all sorts of old presses, types, and even a huge linotype machine, which I had heard about but never seen. This is not easy to find, but seek it out. And near the print room is a huge collection of old furniture which is not well displayed but which you can glimpse.

And they have a gift shop with some local treasures and a lot of stuffed animals that are very cute.

We didn't go to the archives, because I didn't have any research to do.

I've been to a lot of local county museums in Ontario. This one is first-rate and a credit to their community. And it isn't far from Inglis Falls.

The entrance to the conservation area is not well-marked - I drove past it several times and had to stop to ask for directions. Parking was free but I was there off-season and the trails were still covered with solid ice. It is not an easy trail even if the ice was not there, so not for anyone with any mobility issues. I am not sure I got right to the best view, but I saw enough white water to satisfy my needs.

While the other couple travelling with us had been before, we hadn't, so didn't really know what to expect.

The person at the front desk was friendly and knowledgable. There were 4 separate displays, and we enjoyed them all. Definitely worth the trip!

(Note that I answered No to the question "Is it free to enter this place?" In actual fact, I believe it's entry by donation, but I'd encourage everyone to contribute in order to help the gallery to continue to stage such excellent displays)

Very organized with times to enter etc, but the beach was still very crowded. We noticed that people can come in from an entrance without being checked.
Great for kids as shallow and has life guards. Not so relaxing for adults/couples.
Worth going to get away from the city and be near water.

It’s a nice little attraction for a small town like Owen Sound. Lots of interesting history about the area and friendly staff to share it with you. Right across the street from my buddies place. Cool train out front for photos so worth a look

Loved the friendly staff dressed in period costumes. Enjoyed a self-guided tour historical information was readily available. Rooms were organized and had interesting artifacts to view. Reserve for tea on the front porch to make your visit even more enjoyable.

I was there to see a Country Christmas Show that was performed by the Bruce Peninsula residents who were quite talented! My expectations were not high to begin with! How wrong I was, they surpassed my expectations ten fold! They were even at the doors Thanking Us for attending, I couldn't praise them enough! The theatre is a decent size for this area, any larger would be a waist! I have another ticket to see another Christmas Show in December, can't wait to go back!

One would think this was a forgotten area. A simple dirt road leads you in through a cedar bush which opens up to the parking lot near a large picnic shelter. Beyond the shelter is a grassy area that looks out on to Owen Sound Bay. The amenities are few - pit toilets, no picnic tables or running water. The beach is stony, but the view is lovely. Why not spend some quality time with your family and friends? I have enjoyed many a picnic there. The breezes are welcoming on a hot summer's day.

This is part of the Marine and Train Museam. Nice and helpful staff. So if you coe to the visitor centre do loook inte the musem as well because it is small, good and gives a view about the trains and ships which used to operate around this area. Sadly enough, in the past, many shis were lost in storms and many lives lost.
