I don't do usually do waterfalls. But after a strong recommendation from our hotel, I am glad I was flexible. This waterfall is quite simply stunning and mesmerising.
The waterfall is the 2nd highest in Europe apparently. But I think you got a better sense of the size and perspective by standing at the bottom.
If you are at the bottom when the waterfall is in full flow (11.30am-to1.30pm) you might need a rain jacket - I just sat there and watched the water pounding the rocks for half an hour.
There is more parking at the top of the waterfall, along with a viewing platform of sorts, which gives great views back down the valley. This is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the area.

The Lago di Morasco is a very big artifical lake created by the Morasco Dam for energy generation. The wall of the dam is extremely big. Even if there are several signs of the energy production the place is very nice. THe mountains are reflected in the water of the lake. It is the starting point for amazing hikings as Bettelmap Alp, Gries Alp or Lago dei Sabbioni.

Riale is a little jewel both in summer and in winter. I have been several time in winter for skiing and this summer i came back here for hiking to the Lago dei Sabbioni. It is a small village at the end of the valley but it deserves all the road to be done. It is simply a magical place

Just happened to see this place on our drive back down from the waterfall so we decided to stop. They make their own cheeses, yogurt and gelato and have these for sale (also butter and "fiocchi di latte," which is like cottage cheese) in the small shop. In particular I thought the Greek yogurt was delicious (I got the plain kind but they have varieties with fruit and also almonds and honey). The gelato was also excellent.

What a discovery! I knew the chees Bettelmatt but i have never been on this Alp where the cheese is made. It is 1hr walking from Lago of Morasco and it is a little piece of paradise. From here start the hikings to Corno Gries or to the Rifugio Citta' di Busto.
There is not a place for a lunch or a coffee but this, if possible, makes this places ever more magical
