Beautiful waterfront park. Walking paths past ponds. Beautiful horticulture. Small boardwalk with benches overlooking lake ontario. About 30 parking spits.

We visit Lion's Valley quite frequently. There are many trails, challenging hills, washrooms, kids play structures, sixteen mile creek and picnic facilities. It is free to the public, many trailheads to jump into the trail system.

There are so many trails to enjoy fall colours in this provincial park. It was a fun family outing. There is plenty of parking available. Nice place to do picnic with barbecue option available too. Washrooms are available and are maintained clean.

It is a lovely place to sit and have a picnic. There are tables and chairs or you can bring you own. There is also a lot of parking. It is lovely to watch the yachts sail pass.

Great place to take a stroll - having young kids this area is fun to get out and walk around - explore the harbour and the water. Lots to see and fresh cooler air.

This park is right on the water and has a great shaded park for children. Plus it has a great path for walking and a path that takes you along the water and right to the lighthouse.

You might think that an attractive, older house in Oakville would be focused solely on the lifestyle of the people who lived there, but the Oakville Museum is much more. It has an impressive exhibit about the American slaves that came to Canada for their freedom. It features a multi-media presentation that brings alive this part of Canada’s history and helped me understand that life was still filled with fear for former slaves when they arrived in Ontario. This presentation lasts about half an hour. We also had a personal tour of the house itself, which was excellent. I highly recommend you see this hidden gem in Oakville.

Great view of lake nearby. I always liked lighthouses for the bring a feeling of peace and they stand out in the dark communicating safety.

A place where I can escape the realities of life for a few moments. It's a sacred place for artists and artisans. A place where I my inner artist is completely satiated with the centre's overall spirit and it's beauty, it's setting in a natural habitat and the exciting art work and exhibits that it holds within it's walls. This place truly holds it's name to it's fame. It's just fantastic!

The strip of Kerr Street from the Lakeshore to just south of Speers Road is a great place to wonder for an afternoon and find some local shops and restaurants that are truly locally owned and operated. A number of merchants who have been driven out by the ridiculous rents and lack of parking on the Lakshore in downtown Oakville have relocated here. Maro's, Gingerman (closed for renovations at this time) and Kerr Street Cafe are fabulous! Gear Music is one of the best guitar and music gear shops in the GTA, and there are some lovely small parks to sit and people-watch and enjoy your coffee. In the evening, check out the Moonshine Cafe for the best live music in Oakville.

This gallery is great for art camps. Reasonable prices and excellent staff. Your child will be over looking the water in a gorgeous cottage with unlimited art supplies! Incredible! Best kept mom secrecy in the town.
