The Halifax Public Gardens were full of a variety of flowering plants, bushes, and trees. Obviously, great work was done to keep this garden looking fresh. Even in November, these plants were still relatively colorful. There were also plenty of benches, tables, and chairs in this space. I liked the bridges over the stream, and I enjoyed the many statues throughout the park. There was a gazebo in the center of the park, and there was also a very big lake. It was free admission to enter this space. There was parallel parking on the nearby streets.

This is a must see when in Halifax. It's history, and the sweeping views of the city below. Highly recommended.

This is an interesting museum covering events like the explosion in the bay and the Titanic rescue. Good value for money and a lot of model boats and pictures. Boats are not my thing, but I was happily captivate for a couple of hours. Thanks to Philip for answering my random questions.

Went with a close friend to trace check out the museum's offerings and to trace our history, as we both had ancestors who had gone through Pier 21. Poignant, informative, and engaging, we had an impeccable learning experience and got to connect a bit to our individual histories using the on-sight archival services. Whether or not you have a personal connection the Pier 21, this is well worth a visit while you're in Halifax!

This is one of the best boardwalks we have seen travelling. There are some great restaurants and shops along here but watch out for the birds that are always around looking for a free meal.
Hard to find an outdoor eating spot not covered in bird goo.
We saw multiple cruise ships in port and it was an easy walk to get back to the ship.

The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The ceilidh was fun. Beautiful building with lots of history. Only negative, they allow small children on the tours; the children lacked interest and were somewhat disruptive and took away from the experience. I would have given the tour a 5 star if it wasn’t for the children attending.

One of the nicest libraries I've ever visited. Not only is it amazing architecturally, but the inside is really inviting and appealing. They have two cafes (one on ground floor, the other on top floor). They thoughtfully put out interesting book selections facing outward around the stacks, which lead to a lot of perusing of books. Lots of places to sit and read, or computers to use (including iPads and Chromebooks to borrow). Almost makes me wish I lived here to take advantage of the resources.

Every time I’m in Halifax I take a trip across the Harbour to Dartmouth. Sometimes I go to Woodside, other times I go to Alderney. On a warm, sunny day it’s wonderful to sit top deck and admire the Halifax skyline and watch the other boats going by. Although it’s a short trip, I always feel like I’m going somewhere far away.

I had done a lot of walking during my day in Downtown Halifax, but I did want to see some of the more rural parts of the city. This park offers many walkways through these deep tree-lined woods. I really enjoyed the ability to get in touch with nature while I was visiting one of the biggest cities of Canada. I was sure that the fall foliage must have been amazing here. There was free parking on the premises. Downtown Halifax was about a ten (10)-minute drive away.

Just before I left Nova Scotia, I wanted to pay my respect to the victims of the Titanic and to the 1917 Great Disaster. It was free to enter this cemetery, but this cemetery was only open for very random hours. It would be wise to check these hours of operation prior to any entry. It was quiet on a Monday morning. I was able to follow the signs to the locations that I wanted to visit, and I just parked my car as I viewed the graves.

This is an Erik only review as Cheryl did not attend. I visited here on August 26,2023. The entry fee is by donation. The tour of the ship is self-guided. There is staff readily available to ask questions. There are numerous items to read and displays to view. The ship is in very good shape. This a nice piece of WW2 history and worth a visit while in Halifax.

Don't miss it! We went specifically for the Maud Adams collection and it did not disappoint. Her house was her canvas and it is now on display (although not in a frame). Lots of her art to see and pictures of her, too. Great gift shop, too.
