You need to see Sandy Cove dock and harbour and also the amazing beach on the north side of the highway (a bit of a drive but keep going, it's worth it)
The sand is lovely and we spent hours decorating our driftwood "horse" with awesome found beach stones and seaweed.

visit Kennington Beach , there are a couple of beaches in the area that are great for a swim or just a stroll along the beach , also a walking trail....just keep driving past the fortress road and go down the dirt...
We are big Ingonish beach lovers and now I think we have a new favorite!

When I think of NS beaches I expect something more rocky and rugged.
You can rent a board and wetsuit for $15.00 for the hour or you can have your own instructor for $40.00 an hour......the staff is very friendly, the beach is magnificent and goes for miles.

One of my favourite beaches in Canada, white sand, blue skies, a huge long beach, some interesting rock formations, sometimes large waves to bounce in, sometimes it is calm.
probably the best beach we have hit here in Nova Scotia....a real jewel and to make our visit there even better we love to stay at Ocean Mist cottages that is right there at the beach......pure joy!

Often less busy than other well known beaches in the county, there is a lot of space and great swimming here with a very sandy base.
Beautiful sparkling red sandy beach , nice family beach, great for children as the water is very shallow and nice and warm ;) I loved my day at Waterside Beach !
