Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Top notch long, soft sand surf beach, cool vibe, decent pricing on food and drinks, easily accessible, area is walkable. Full recommendation but a couple of things people should know,

Lodging in the area is everything from a tent lot to world class, so there’s something for everyone but we found a few of the places we looked at were very rough so watch for current reviews preferably from multiple sites when booking ahead of time.

Also this is the only nude beach in Mexico we were told and it’s a little different from what we experienced in Europe or British Columbia where it’s a broad cross section of people from all demographics. There were definitely some naturalist type people just enjoying freedom but we found it to be hugely tilted to the gay-dude side of things so be prepared for loads of penises,
all over, here, there, up, down, penises for days.
Running up and down the beach, doing extended yoga sessions, standing around with the leg up on things, Tussling and tickling, getting oiled up,
    penises everywhere.
Old, young, lots of waxed, lasered, sugared penises and testicles.

That being said there was nothing obscene happening and lots of family’s were on the beach and service was good, just something to be prepared for.

Sunset is visible over the ocean on this beach which is nice, and in the evening the street turns to a circus of characters doing various acts for money and selling handmade goods,

There it is, definitely not the worst place to spend a few days!

Note: Trip advisor made me use the words “penis” and “testicles”

This hideaway beach is about a 15 minute walk from Puerto Angel. It has three separate sections and all the sections are small. It is one of the safest beaches in the area because it is a bay. There is good snorkeling, the best in the area. There is a little restaurant up on top and the view from there is stunning. There is another restaurant on the third beach section. There were few people there but it was a Monday when we went.

For a beach situated next to a working dock with dozens of fishing boats coming in and out every day, Muelle Beach in Puerto Angel is surprisingly pretty. The dock itself is wide and offers some nice spots to take photos of the picturesque bay, and the beach is wide and curved, though a bit steep for walking. At the far end is the andador which allows pedestrians to walk at the base of the rock outcropping and get to the adjacent Playa Panteon. In terms of services, there are a couple of restaurants situated near Muelle Beach by the dock, and I got the feeling that it's mostly locals who hang out on this particular beach. Finally, it seemed friendly and safe. And while there are better beaches nearby (Playa Panteon, and Playa Estacahuite), I can see where it would be an nice beach to hang out -- particularly in the late-afternoon.

We ended up at Playa Puerto Angel for a swim, as Playa Estacahuite was just too rough. I thought the beach was dirty, with bits of garbage scattered around, and the smell of fuel for the boats, as it was really just a beach port. I felt I would have rather just get to Punta Cometa earlier than we did for sunset. Note, there is a nice-looking sea turtle mural in the Brisas del Mar that is worth a photo.

Adan runs a tight operation out of Puerto Angel (about 20 mins from San Agustinillo where we were staying) and took us to sites with interesting rock formations and corals. We were really stunned by the amount of wildlife; beautiful schools of fish, a curious cornetfish that followed us around, starfish, octopi, turtles and sleeping rays. We were frankly surprised to see as much as we did in the Pacific, and you could tell that there's fewer divers than in other places because the fish get really close and curious.

You can really tell that Adan is an experienced divemaster by the way he is attentive to details. We had an amazing time and are looking forward to returning sometime!
