We had our 2 and 6 year old grandsons staying with us. We needed a pool. So, we went to the Rec Center and got a 25 visit punch card. Our 6 year old enjoyed the water slide. There are 3 different pools and a lazy river. All is indoors. Their mom could work-out, while we watched the boys in the pool. Very close to a very fun playground too.

I experienced one of the most magical moments of my life at the top of McCoy Park while snow shoeing. I was completely alone in the wilderness, traversing ungroomed tracks that hadn’t seen another person in days, surrounded by mountains on all four sides. If you enjoy and value that kind of experience, you MUST go to this special mountain. There are less difficult, well groomed tracks on the left side of the mountain which are lovely too, and more suited for the novice snow shoer. Beware the right side of the mountain—you really need to bring a snack, water, a good map, and the right clothes, plus your sense of adventure—this is basically a winter hike, and yes, some of it is poorly marked and confusing. I live in the Catskill mountains and am totally used to trekking uphill in deep virgin snow in my snow shoes, so it was comforting for me. But you need to be prepared as if you’re going on a winter hike and have your wits about you, especially on very cold days. If you value an unadulterated experience of nature, privacy, and adventure, the right side of the mountain is for you. It’s one of those experiences in nature that is hard to come by in this overpopulated world. I felt extremely privileged and lucky to be able to experience it.

We were assigned Chalky as an instructor at Beaver Creek for my two sons (ages 18 and 12). He did an such an incredible job with both, particularly my younger son, that we signed him up for more private lessons with Chalky at Vail and Beaver Creek.

He was patient, understanding, creative, fun, and truly understood how to communicate the concepts of skiing to my sons (this is coming from a former ski instructor...who knows better than to teach family! Lol).

I highly recommend Chalky as a ski instructor and am happy to provide this well-earned 5 star review.

    Sincerely,

    Rick J. Ragsdale

As a result of a presentation by the Vail Valley Art Guild on Photography we found out about the Art of the Valley Gallery. As one can imagine, there are many talented amateur and professional artists and photographers in this beautiful environment of mountains, rivers, lakes, and valleys. This is where some of their art is charmingly displayed and available for sale. It is always amazing to us, how talented creative people are! The presenter at our lecture told us that to be a good photographer/artist, one should look at lots of photographs/artworks! This is a good place to do so! It's a little difficult to find, so don't be discouraged. Know that it is right beside the Avon Theatres. It would be helpful if the gallery displayed a colorful flag or something outside, to let people know easily, where they're located.

Great staff, great fun! Thanks Lakota! We enjoyed our guide, Riley. We had some nervous paddlers…but they absolutely loved it and did great!

We did the intermediate level experience and were really impressed with the diversity of puzzles. The designer has obviously put time into this room. We've done other escape rooms and would definitely do this one again the next time we are in the area. The game master was very friendly and helpful. Good for mixed ages. Try it out!

I participated in the AIARE Level 1 Course in Jan. 2022 and the experience was fantastic. With COVID situations, they did the best they could with online course and I felt as though I still gained a lot from the online course. The field class was terrific and out instructor went above and beyond with explanation, demonstration and working one on one with each of our group members. I definitely recommend doing your AIARE courses through them and I will be sure to come back again for the Level 2 course when that time comes.

Our guide Darrell was very good. He called me to suggest moving up our starting time due to warm water temperatures in the Eagle River, which we did. He chose a location that was very accessible and where the trout were biting. One of our party had no previous fly fishing experience and he spent an appropriate amount of time with the novice; and sufficient time with the more experienced ones.

The equipment was very good and overall it was a good morning on the River.

5-Star Customer Care. Every staff member pleased to see you. Outstanding equipment & selection. Christy’s long reputation for quality rings true in every regard. Ask for Joe, Master Technician. He’ll not be content until you are.

On the first tee, our local playing partner set the stage for what was to come. He stated “I am a member here, the course is beautiful, there isn’t a flat fairway or green on the course, check your Florida egos at the door because if you aren’t a 5 handicap (which I am not) this course is going to eat your lunch..... And it did! Beautiful, YES! Miserable, YES! His advice was to play Vail or Beaver Creek and that is exactly what we will do when we return.

Great experience renting ski equipment at Charter Sports in Avon based on what I rented 4 years ago - then went to hill and ski length no longer worked for me - needed to change - was able to swap my skis to a shorter length free of charge at Charter Hotel / Sports at Beaver Creek. Saved an afternoon of skiing by accessing equipment at Landings. Great, helpful staff at both locations!

We booked this experience for my dad's birthday as a guys trip. Mark did an exceptional job training three newbies to the sport of fly fishing. We ALL caught at least one fish. He knows the right spots to fish, told us how to improve our technique in a very polite and professional matter, and does everything he can to make sure we were having a great time. We would definitely go fishing with Mark again. He also took tons of pictures of us fishing, holding our catch, and group pics. What a guide! Thanks Mark for such a great time.
