Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Since I am a burgeoning artist, I look forward to each visit for ideas to paint. I could spend hours there !

Every time we visit Puerto Vallarta we do the Art Walk, held every Wednesday evening during the winter. It's fun to see all of the galleries, and it is easy to walk from one to another.

A very very busy place. Lots of food items to purchase. Lots of high quality merchandise to buy. A great place to people watch if you can find a bench. From Nuevo Vallarta it is approximately $22.00 US dollars via taxi. Seems like most booths were run by New Yorkers or Canadians.

I discovered this gallery and was immediately captivated by its collection. Marty, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions. He provided a personalized experience that was truly unique. Like a skilled matchmaker, we engaged in conversation, and he thoughtfully curated a selection of works he believed I would appreciate. I left with a diverse array of stunning pieces that spanned the communist era of Poland. I highly recommend a visit if you have any interest in art; there is likely something there to captivate everyone.

It's just an okay mall. Beside the WalMart, which is where a lot of expats shop for groceries from the surrounding areas. I had to visit the mall for the Motorola phone store.

Mata Ortiz is my favourite Mexican art form. This gallery stocks a beautiful array of pieces, varied in size and price points. You certainly won't go wrong making a purchase here, and I found their pieces to be fairly priced — however you might also find better prices on some pieces and you may be lucky to save a little money, if you shop a few of the galleries in the Romantic Zone and Centro arts district that carry Mata Ortiz. I purchased four pieces of Mata Ortiz pottery this trip in Centro and Romantic Zone, and feel the prices I paid were less expensive than comparable pieces at this gallery. Caveat: not all pieces are equal; artist, design, size, etc all affect price — but in general, you pay more for most things at an airport. Not surprising; I always have found that airport stores are usually more expensive than those in the shopping districts; high rents, captive audience of last minute shoppers. It's not particular to this gallery — it's the same for other craft shops at the airport, too. With the beauty and uniqueness of Mata Ortiz and the diverse offerings — if you fall in love with a piece at this gallery, I suggest you purchase it. You may never see that exact piece of art again — and that's not a risk one should take.

Many stores with souvenirs, pottery, leather goods etc, at good prices not as cheap as Matzatlan. Caution this area has many hills, cobblestone streets and steep sidewalks .

One of the few REAL talavera shops in Vallarta. They do not the cheap clay knockoffs you see in the tourist shops. Antonio is knowledgeable and will go into as much sett as you like. A real old school business.

This gallery has a stunning curation of pieces from Mexican artists. Some of the most beautiful pottery you will see. The values are very good. And the owner is a real sweet person, who clearly is living out her purpose with this gallery. Highly recommend to any art lover of any budget range.

The best, most interesting, unique jewelry store in Mexico! I have accumulated quite a collection myself. You will find that special piece of jewelry here from necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets and more by Cassandra and her silver artists. She also does design custom pieces. Cassandra is also a painter, lots of her art is hung around her shop and upstairs. She can also paint your pet if you provide a picture and she will send it to you. I return here yearly, but I do wish she sold her jewelry online. This former Canadian has an interesting story as to how she came to live in Mexico, and her two chichi doggie companions are just adorable. Her staff is very nice, helpful and friendly. So ladies, send your partner down the street for a coffee, some food, or to the bar and take your time looking and shopping for that wonderful, one of a kind piece of jewelry that will 'sing out" to you to wear!

This a a great gallery in the Gallery District. The different artists represented are varied. There are different types of art; sculpture, prints and paintings. And, best of all there are actually things that you could easily take back home and not have to worry about shipping. The owner Gary is extremely helpful and full of information.

We explored Old Town on 01/01/22, New Year's Day. Even though we were told by staff at the hotel we were staying at that everything would be open on New Year's Day, that simply was not true. Just 2 blocks away from the beach everything was closed. Isla Cuale market was also open. We had to take a taxi for 130 Pesos from our hotel as the old downtown was about 25 miles away. As we were seeking to find a place to have breakfast about 6 blocks from the beach, we encountered a local lady who owned a restaurant... she said it was open. We followed her there and found it also to be closed. Our only recourse was to go down to the beachfront where everything was open. After breakfast we explored all areas of the old downtown. Quite interesting and in the afternoon there were more shops opening up. From what I read online, small locally owned shops and restaurants do not accept credit cards or US dollars. I read that we had to buy with Pesos only. This is a lot of baloney. Nearly everyone accepts USD and most will take credit cards as well. Just make sure you do your calculations correctly for pesos vs dollars. In 2022 a peso is worth about 5 cents.

We searched out this gallery on my nephew’s recommendation - as an artist, he has very high standards. We certainly were not disappointed. The venue is open, with a rugged sophistication: lots of white plaster, curved walls, interesting windows and the art is modern, a little edgy and very exciting. I particularly liked the sculptures with figures of petrified bone, silver, and small jewels. The same artist also has a collection of jewelry on display. An experience not to be missed.
