What travellers are saying
- jimmysmith2022Austin, TX12 contributionsThe beginning of the Malecon Boardwalk is a short 10 minute walk from Buganvilias Resort Vacation Club and if you continue your walk you can get to the end of the Malecon in 25 minutes. The end of the Malecon is the start of the Zona Romantica which we will explore next time, lots of restaurants in the Zone Romantica.
The streets are clean and we always felt save at all times of the day and night.
Our first Saturday night we walked out to the street and the first edition of El Carnaval Puerto Vallarta Parade was out our front door! It was a totally unexpected surprise and the excitment of the locals was intoxicating!
On Saturday's late afternoon, evenings, the plaza below The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is filled with families enjoying music and local cuisine.
Don't miss the show at 6pm every evening to see the Papantla Flyers. I remember seeing similar Flyers in San Antonio 1968 Hemisphere. Don't forget to tip!
Totika Kohatu anyone!?! A local using very colorful language doing his best!Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Three live singing drag queens direct from Provincetown, MA serving up all the DIVA numbers you love from Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton and more. Each queen brings their own style and power to their solo numbers but their group numbers really bring the house down. The opening number was incredible! Really lets you have it right out the gate and sets the tone for the rest of the hour plus show.
I believe there are 9 shows left so if you’re looking for a great show while in PV don’t miss these queens!

It is the original Vallarta with history folks. There is no better place to be day or night and I love coming here yearly. You see singles, couples, retired people, entertainers, families, all ages of people from the very young to older folks! The people I have meet here are so fun and interesting! They come from all over the world to visit, rent, work and live here. Everyone has an interesting story too. The selection of establishment's to grab a bite are from coffee shops, small places to larger ones with all kinds of wonderful food to eat at, and prices from inexpensive to fine dining. The shopping is the best in Vallarta! I have my favorite usual places I visit and there are always new shops to explore. The beach is such fun and you can rent a chair, stay for the day or book your stay at one of the nice hotels for a week or months. It is the heart of Vallarta and I love this special part of town. After dark the night life is rocking with all the cool bars and endless entertainment. There is something of interest for everyone! Enjoy.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Roam38968896552Helena, MT1 contributionPuerto Vallarta is an awesome destination for vacation! We had a great excursion experience with Vallarta Adventures, taking us to Yelapa and Majahuitas, feeding us, able to snorkel, kayak, ride a 4-wheeler, and visit some of the local community and vendors. The beach scene at Suyalita was a great vibe as well. A bit crowded, but the people are friendly and the food is excellent!Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The Travel TrioNew York City, NY10 contributionsWe had a wonderful experience at Playa Las Gemelas today. We wanted to go to a beach outside of PV proper and Yelapa seemed too far for two women traveling here for our first time. It was a Tuesday in November so it was quiet, which was welcomed. It seemed more locals, either from nearby towns or the condos on the beach. But the water was clean and clear with mild waves, the shells were gorgeous and the water temperature couldn't be beat. We Uber'd there instead of the bus. You're dropped on the side of the highway to take very steep and unkempt stairs down to the water (not handicap friendly), which opens up onto the beach. There, vendors make food, rent tables and chairs and have other fun things to look at / buy. You won't be disappointed.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- BenMiami, FL12 contributionsPlaya de los muertos is actually a nice stop to make. The beach is a little rough but it has a nice vibe. A few restaurants on the beach - a short walk from el malecón and other nice spots! They have a few water sports as well!
