This is one of the best trips we booked. While it was a long trip to his mountain home where he was born and then buried, it was worth the trip. Jermaine Campbell, our driver, was on time and he was most entertaining and knowledgeable about Jamaica and Bob Marley. His jovial nature and his narration on Jamaica and the music legend made the ride seem a little shorter. Also, I didn't know or expect persons could smoke marijuana at the venue, but it's encouraged while there (and yes, it's legal and sold in Jamaica for personal use). Bob Marley's tomb is enclosed in a crypt next to his mother's, and thankfully you cannot take photos or videos of the inside of either one (so they can continue to rest in peace). There are many staircases and an incline to get to his final resting place, so be prepared to climb up. Overall, a peaceful nature reserve up in the mountains, save for the live music played for visitors, honouring his legacy. Take some money to tip the guide and for lunch, if you want some. Good idea to take water, but be warned there is one pit stop/bathroom break before the one and a half hour drive up into the mountains without stopping.
The trip was well worth it.
