We booked TUI Supreme and coach picked us up from hotel on time and picked up guide at meeting point. Goes by the name of Roberto and he was great fun and informative about the local community. We boarded a large Catamaran with drinks and snacks provided. Stopped to snorkel with fish halfway then sailed onto Saona island part of the national park. Beach is beautiful white sands with palm trees -paradise!
Had barbecue lunch and drinks provided and stayed for 3 hours. A couple proposed whilst on beach!

My extended family and I had so much fun at the 27 waterfalls! The experience is well mapped out and I felt super safe and well cared for by the onsite staff. My group was 8 adults and we all had an amazing time!

The park is so beautiful and we loved jumping and sliding into the water! Our guide was great at explaining what to do, took plenty of photos and ensured everyone enjoyed the adventure!

One tip - ensure you wear comfortable shoes that you can go in the water with and also walk along paths. Water shoes with grip on the bottom or waterproof Tevas are great options.

We visited Ocean World on our cruise-visit on Porto Platta. This is a place for families and elder people with dolphin, snorkling and aqaruims. There Are shops for souvenir, sigars and chocolate. We had a short course were We learned to make some Caribbean food.

It was easy to visit and pay when we got there with a credit card ( no cash) and online booking was not required.
There are several lakes and caves and though you cannot swim as you could in some cenotes it was a good trip and took an hour. Easy to just go by yourself

This beach is very beautiful, offers different type of views unlike the average beach . Clean, turquoise waters. Not huge but just enough.

Views are great. Very organized & efficient. Wonderful views. Cheap thrills abound. This was the Santo Domingo trip. We’ve heard the Puerto Plata is more eventful.

We did this excursion through our cruise ship. We had a great time! Other reviews had me nervous that it wouldn’t be a great day, but it was a perfect day! Ferries picked us up in port and shuttled us to the dock at Catalina Island. The staff were waiting for us and quickly got our chairs and umbrellas set up for us. Facilities were good. There is a nature trail with signage showing what animals inhabit the island. The beach is beautiful and clean. There wasn’t food available, but we knew that before we came and packed accordingly. We would definitely do this again!

We went on a Carnival Cruise. The cruise port is the only thing we were able to see. There were storms and flooding in the mountains and it wasn't safe for us to leave the port. There was lots to do if you wanted to shop, eat, relax by a pool. There was a small garden area as well. We didn't pay to use the pool area but it looked really nice.

It is well worth the effort it takes to drive to this beach located off the main road towards Las Galeras in Samana Province, Dominican Republic. Look for the sign on the left if you're coming from Samana immediately after you pass the Texaco station (a great place for bathroom pit stops and snacks). There are two parts to this beach. You want to turn RIGHT. If you get to the end of the road and turn left, you will find the part of the beach more developed and heavily used by locals.

Turn right, and slowly wind your way down the beach. Enjoy the sheer natural beauty as you drive through the palm-tree lined road in the sand. This gorgeous beach is typically uncrowded, and has a small, rustic restaurant which serves delicious food including chicken and traditional fried whole fish. You must try the pescado entero frito while in the D.R.! If you come across someone selling pan de coco (Dominican coconut bread) try that, too, especially if it’s still warm.

This beach has toilets, but you are better off stopping at the Texaco station first. Some of the beach chairs are in better shape than others, but expect to pay about 100 pesos (two bucks) to use each one. Bring towels and a cooler, and plenty of sunscreen. For those not used to tropical vacations, you can get a trip-ruining sunburn in about fifteen minutes of unprotected direct sun.

Yes, the vendors can be aggressive but please remember this is how they feed their families, so don’t be cheap if you are buying something. A simple, “No, gracias,” should keep them moving.

If you are visiting Las Galeras, Las Terrenas, Samana Town, or staying anywhere on Samana Province, this beach is an absolute must-see.

We're locals, and we ask that you please do us and your fellow visitors a favor: skip the obnoxious ATV tour of this beach. This is the last place anyone should ever drive an ATV. Why spoil the tranquility for someone else with a loud, stinky, polluting vehicle? Have some consideration for nature, too. Thank you.
