Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Nancy LMurfreesboro, TN4 contributionsI got my very first tattoo ever done at La Marca of course I was nervous since it was my first tattoo. The staff at the shop made it easy and comfortable even before I stepped into the shop. I booked my appointment months prior over messenger they were extremely accommodating and helpful. The artist David was wonderful he helped my ideas of what I wanted come to life. He made me very comfortable, they treat you like an old friend at the shop . ¡Gracias David por todo! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and tattooWritten 20 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martin4 contributionsThis is a wonderful gallery and we fell in love with the sculptures. At the end we decided to buy 2 artworks and they arranged all packing and transport to bring them to our home safely.

Jorge is an incredibly creative artist and he is always designing new pieces. His work is all handmade so everything is either one of a kind or very limited production. His store is more like a gallery and probably the prettiest store space I’ve seen in Havana. If you ask they will even show you around the upstairs workshop where everything is made. His partner Yorya is a delight. Both of them welcome you so warmly. Pieces vary from as little as $50 up to $1000. Large selection of $150-$250 earrings, rings and bracelets. This is where you need to buy something unique to always remember your trip to Cuba.Written 25 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vacationer247841 contributionHis work is of exquisite taste, the best representation of the new wave of Latin American art. You can see various expressions of work.. in particular influence from the Generacion de ruptura . It is great to see this fresh take on large print artWritten 7 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SOHOTRAVELLER1London, UK567 contributionsThis is a wonderful pioneering melting pot of music dance art film sculpture with food and drink that makes an amazing socialising space.
Great place to meet inspiring Cubano 🇨🇺. Has a hint of FAC 51 vibe from Manchester.
Seen some great Cuban Jazz and seen wonderful art combined with drinks al fresco with local Cuban friends.
Often bad queue to get in as it is getting more and more popular and well known.Written 23 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RobinRoss2014Blackpool, UK12 contributionsI stumbled across this screen print studio in 2014 and the work is superb, easy to find and so helpful. As a screen print artist in the UK it was a real gem.Written 6 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PamwiltravelArcata, CA374 contributionsThe purpose of Fototeca is to house the photographic archives of Cuba. The staff is committed to this goal. In addition, this is a happening place if you are interested in photography. There are exhibits by both emerging and established photographers. When I visited, there was a marvelous workshop going on: young photographers having their work critiqued and made into books. I'd love to visit again.Written 15 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SirinUtrecht, The Netherlands67 contributionsThis small art gallery on O'Reilly is quite a nice escape from a very crowded, rather long street; with lots of weird and interesting modern art installations, sculptures and a very cosy cat hanging out on the couch. Not for everyone's taste, and it might be more interesting if you can speak to those in the gallery about the context of the art.Written 1 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zambuccadnezzar_IIILondon, Canada111 contributionsFor someone who likes Touristy stuff it might be boring, but if you've been enough times and all you see is Havana through a bus or an outdoor market and resorts then this could be fun.
I. Walked from San Miguel and Belascoín, but if you're staying in the south end of Vedado or Plaza, this is close by. It is noticible more Vedado looking than the rest of Centro.
All locals, to the point that I was ignored when I wanted to order food. The floors spiral up. There are a lot of services in there (booze, internet cards, clothes etc). The ate a isn't pretty per se, but if you look up you can visualize how pretty the area used to be.Written 10 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The old building dates back in the 18th century but was fully restored after a 1980 big fire. It has 3 floors and a nice garden with beautiful sculptures and a huge ceramic wall by Cuban ceramist Alfredo Sosabravo.
One of the rooms has works of Carmen Montilla and other Venezuelan artists who donated their works to the Gallery, another one has temporary exhibitions of modern art by Cuban and Latin Americans.
Very easy to find as it's located on the popular Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, opposite to the entrance of the Church.
Admission is free. Open Tuesday to Sunday 9.00' - 17.00'.Written 13 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s not very large compared to those I have visited in other countries.
Limited selection and prices while reasonable seem fixed.
Meat is very unsanitary and no refrigeration.
A visit is ZoK for say 15-20 minutes but nothing for a tourist to buy.Written 8 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Yes you need an appointment because the artists and assistant are very busy--trying to make art and fulfill other obligations. (Life in Cuba is not a vacation for Cubans.) I purchased a graphite painting from Frank and paper cut out art from Alex, but you need not buy a thing. Just so cool to see this interesting work.Written 22 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
