We have spent 4 days in this part of Havana visitting quite a lot there so now time for conclusion. Old Havana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982, is definetely the historic center of the city of Havana. Sometimes you can feel it is neglected but we have visited also other parts of the city and they look much worse. You can feel it was so beautiful in the past. Sad that some of beautiful buildings are just becoming in ruins in front of our eyes.

Incredibly beautiful street art, Fuster is a genius, Id recommend everyone who visits Havana to spend the morning walking around the streets close to Fusterlandia and admire his works of art.

Fábrica is a must when in Havana. I’d been told about how cool it was, and how it was distinctive and interesting in addition to just being good fun - but I was still pleasantly surprised. It feels at odds with the city around (in a good way), and much more like somewhere like Berlin. In Cuban terms, it’s relatively expensive - but it’s nothing on a night out in Western Europe/North America, and it’s certainly worth it. It’s the sheer variety that made this place, for me. If you want to drink just a mojito or two and walk around taking in the art, or watch a bit of cinema, or just explore the building - that’s perfectly possible. If you want to go to a club, that’s possible too. Fábrica really has everything, and as an institution in Havana should not be missed.

Old Square - The Plaza Vieja is a square located in Old Havana. It was designed in 1559 and is the most striking plaza in Havana from an architectural point of view. Here the Cuban baroque coexists with the Art Nouveau inspired by the Gaudinian style.

El capitolio a large imposing building from the 1930's

From Ell Morro you see the skyline of Havana. Beautiful to see by night or day. We really like this.

We had been able to contact the theatre through Facebook before we travelled to Cuba, so knew that there was a contemporary dance event scheduled while we were there.. It was easy enough to buy tickets on the afternoon of the performance (starting at 5pm by the way); a good seat cost 30 CUCs, so pretty good value. The theatre itself is spectacular, and the show was excellent – definitely worth seeing what’s on.
I think there are guided tours, but have no information about these. We also sat in tha cafe/bar in the arcaded forefront of the the theatre and there was an excellent band, with mostly female musicians (for a change!), playing while we were there.

Cathedral Square is one of the four main squares in Old Havana and the site of the Cathedral of Havana from which it takes its name.  Following the construction of the Cathedral in 1727, it became the site of some of the city's grandest mansions and to this day is one of most busy places in Old Havana.

The house was really beautiful, but unfortunately it is forbidden to enter the rooms. You may have a look at the rooms through the windows and open doors.
It is interesting and the house and the surrounding Parker very beautiful .

The Malecón  is a broad esplanade, roadway, and seawall that stretches for 8 km along the coast in Havana from the mouth of Havana Harbor in Old Havana, along the north side of the Centro Habana neighborhood and the Vedado neighborhood, ending at the mouth of the Almendares River.
I went almost all of this road. It os interesting walk but on the other side you see that this city needs a lot of improvements and renovations.

Definitely go to this beach if you have a stay in cuba. You just take a local bus.. takes about twenty minutes. There is a cafe restaurant at te entrance and there is also a little bottle shop where's you can buy some booze to take to the beach. There are locals walking the beach with snacks and drinks. The sun. Beds are of varying quality with shade cover... also of varying quality. The water is amazing. Go for a day Ormond half a day at least.

The Museum of Bell Artes is housed in the most amazing building - there is a stained glass ceiling which is beyond words. The art collection is quite interesting - but the building is what blew me away.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is amazing. Actually I can't stress enough how great the staff is, I want to take all of them home with me. Even the chambermaids leave you cute little notes in the room. The attention to detail is superb. The pool and the spa are deffinitely a must see. The rooms are very luxorious and always smell amazing and clean. The food is great and the view of Havana is the best.

Special thanks to: Luis, Deborah and Cirina! Love you!

I am sure this is the biggest cemetery in the world - maybe China or India can compete but wow - I've never seen such a big old cemetery. I don't know how to RATE a cemetery. It reminded me of New Orleans but ten times the size.
