Talking about the beach by itself, the most beautiful beach in the world is Varadero, in the Matanzas province, in Cuba.

Had an overnight here onboard cruise ship. We did the hop on bus tour for $10 per person which gave us an overview. We went to the main square late afternoon and had lovely drinks on rooftop Iberostar hotel. Lovely views, service and reasonably priced for such a grand hotel. Had a full day out in a classic car, went to Santa Maria beach then amazing lobster lunch at Don Pepe by the beach car park. $12 for whole lobster. In the restaurant there was a table magician, highly worth the few dollar tips and a father and son duo. Classic car brought us back to ship. Amazing time in Havanna.

Thankfully, our Airbnb apartment was only two blocks away from this charming square.

We were able to enjoy it lively atmosphere, street dancing, live music, shops, and delicious restaurants.

It is not too touristy as it is also enjoys by locals and tourists.

We ate at the restaurants on the Square and nearby four times .

At day I ran into a trumpet player playing the godfather theme and later met a homeless person who told me that he was a Olympic boxer when he was young.
At night the Malecon is buzzing with people of all ages having a drink, talking, laughing and just having a good time. Like the waves washing against it, we often ended up here after having danced the night away in the casa de la musica nearby.

Pilar Beach is about 8km from Iberostar Daiquiri and is a short cab ride there. The beach is wide and had long sand dunes with pristine diamond white sand and goes out for about 1km (similar to Turks and Caicos and Grand Caymans). The waters are blue and you will have to pay $5/pp CDN for a lounge and palapa if you want. However, you can bring a beach blanket as well. There are catamarans and paddle boats you can pay to use as well. There were some crowds but there is enough space for everyone there and the view is of Half Moon island. There are some catamarans that can ferry you over for $30 CDN for lunch or $40 CDN if you want to snorkel as well. There is the Pilar Restaurant as well but didn’t eat there.

Can't come to Havana and see the cathedral. the square is lovely and largely restored and the cathedral entrance is free. Avoid a lot of the touts trying to get you to their restaurants, as the better ones are off the square. The plaza is a straight line walk from Prado.

One of the most pristine beaches I have ever seen. Turquoise water and powder white sand. Clothing optional section. Loungers and sun shades available for a small fee.

We opted to go to Fabrica de Arte for nightlife over going to a cabaret and had a great dinner, saw a grammy award winning, world famous salsa band (Los Van Van) in concert, browsed some modern art, and danced to a live DJ. There was also a theatre performance earlier in the evening.

It cost 1000 CUP or $4 USD per person to enter. No requirement to drink but there are restaurants and bars all over inside. You must show your ticket at the exit and pay for any drinks you have had to leave. Your ticket serves as your tab for drinks while you are inside. If you lose your ticket it will cost you 5000 CUP or $20 USD to leave. So don't lose it!!!

We were swarmed by would be "taxi" drivers (there are official yellow cabs and then there are men in regular cars) when leaving La Fabrica de Arte and were very thankful we had already called a La Nave driver (like uber) and were able to phone him to figure out where he was in the crowd of people and cars.

When we were leaving the Fabrica de Arte we had one "taxi" driver tell us he was an official taxi and said he was the yellow cab in the row. Then he tried to take us to a different vehicle. Thankfully our La Nave driver had arrived and we went with him instead (we had considered cancelling La Nave driver to go with the "official taxi" guy because he was promising a lower price but didn't when he took us another car).

Neverland does exist and it is in the outskirts of Havana, Cuba. Whimsical, colourful, picturesque and grotesque at the same time, Fusterlandia is a "no-place" waiting to be discovered and savoured.

Morro Castle is a must-see historical site for anyone visiting Havana. The castle offers stunning views of the Havana skyline and the ocean. The architecture is impressive, and the history of the castle is fascinating to learn about. You can explore the interior of the castle, including the various rooms and corridors, and learn about its role in defending Havana.

This is the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. It’s like being in a dream. Gorgeous white sand beaches you can walk for hours. I was relaxing on my floatie when a stingray swam beneath me. Snorkelled for 2 minutes before finding a starfish.

The restaurant boasts great off the resort meals for cheap. We ate 3 meals + alcoholic drinks for $30 CAN.

If you want to feel like you went to heaven, spend a day on this beach.
