Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Molly S14 contributionsOne of the most beautiful beaches ever. No resorts and privacy on the edges. Gentle surf and crystal blue water. Restaurant was wonderful.Written 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TravelingSoccerLoonSaint Paul, MN3,477 contributionsBeautiful sight watching the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocks which has created the geologic formation, Devil's Bridge. Multiple vendors have set up stalls here which was a bit strange and creates a touristy feel and takes away from the natural beauty of the spot. While it was interesting to see, I would not travel far out of your way to see it. Spending 15 minutes here is enough. However, it would be worth combining with a visit to nearby Betty's Hope Sugar Plantation and to Long Bay BeachWritten 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara INew York City, NY301 contributionsStunning beach! Very long and can accommodate a lot of people.
There are chairs and umbrellas to rent and a restaurant nearby. A very nice place to spend the day.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very happy we visited this special place, which is not very far from Falmouth Harbour.Written 29 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelingSoccerLoonSaint Paul, MN3,477 contributionsLocated at the entrance to English Harbour, the Pillars of Hercules is a spectacular geological formation of limestone rock that rises straight out of the ocean. It is a good diving and snorkeling spot, and many such tours stop her by boat which is probably the bast way to experience the Pillars. I was able to see it from a distance when hiking to the top of the Middle Ground Trail from Fort Berkeley to Pigeon Point Beach. It can also be reached by hiking the rocky trail from Galleon Beach which involves climbing over some boulders and also getting your feet wet. I wish I had done this when I was at Galleon Beach but was scared off as it sounded rather daunting. Also keep in mind that it is described that the seas can be rough at this spot, so only strong swimmers or those with a snorkel vest and fins should attempt.Written 24 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Johno9912Chichester, UK653 contributionsI was a bit apprehensive about this trip, I was concerned that the rays would be mistreated and only come near for food. Okay there was small, frozen squid but it was used to feed each Ray one at a time. The rays ‘looked like’ they were enjoying the experience as much as us. The whole experience from arrival, the talk at the beginning, the speed boat trip out to the area, the solid floating pontoon and the actual experience was very well handled and professional. I took some lovely GoPro videos above and below the surface. Unbelievable and unforgettable experience.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jaipea TLondon, UK2 contributionsWe chartered the yacht for a sunset cruise and we were not disappointed.
‘Capt Simon’ and Michael looked after us exceptionally well and gave us an informative guide to the coast line as we sailed from Jolly Harbour up to St John’s.
As a once in a lifetime experience this trip is an affordable must.

- DebbieDianrCranbrook, Canada2 contributionsWe had an amazing experience scooter snorkeling at Galleon Beach at English Harbour. Inram and Damon were exellent from pick up at the ship port, transportation across island to instruction on how to use the scooters. We saw ship wreck, turtles, fish, and stingray. The Pillars of Hercules was an amazing site. Scooters brings a whole new meaning to snorkeling as it makes it very effortless to go through the water.
We would highly recommend this tour to any age! Thanks Inram & Damon for a great experience!Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Saw turtles close up and lots besides. This was all topped off with our own brilliant video and photos of our experience that Bernie sent us a few hours later.Written 20 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
