What travellers are saying
- Looking_for_charmeBergen, Norway1,192 contributionsA small old town with very few tourists. And you can have a delicious meal here at Cibus and some good sweets at Cafe Centrale.Written 6 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Terry C1 contributionWe felt very welcome at this family farm. Pietro gave us an excellent tour of the farmyard and cheese making facilities as he explained what goes into the making of good cheese. We sampled a few of their cheeses with focaccia bread and wine. He also brought us some fava beans that they grow.Written 17 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Gaurav GNew York City, NY33 contributionsPerfecto !
Had the most amazing pizzzas for the best price. Amazing house wine worthy a great host. A must visit.Written 22 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - sophie gOxford, UK18 contributionsThere's scaffolding round the main tower, but you can still stroll into the main courtyard. And although there is currently no signposting, you can head up the main staircase to visit the Pinacotecca, the art gallery housing 10 paintings by local-born artist Emilio Notte. The huge crucifiction is stunning.Written 23 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Thomas SCeglie Messapica, Italy72 contributionsThis is a lovely little church erected in the 17th century. There are original frescoes from the period, and some later ones. It is a very small, but beautiful space. There is an English-language Mass celebrated on Sundays. Check at San Rocco Church or at the bulletin board at the gate at Sant'Anna.Written 14 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Giorgio MWigan, UK95 contributionsSan Rocco is a well attended church that is a little over 150 years old. The coloured dome can be seen on the approach to the city. Interesting statue of Our Lady of Pompeo.
The annual festival in August see's two processions and a big firework display.
The inside is in need of some attention.Written 25 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Thomas SCeglie Messapica, Italy72 contributionsThis church has some beautiful marble work and is just across the street from the old ducal palace. It's just a short stroll away from Piazza Plebiscito.Written 14 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- sophie gOxford, UK18 contributionsIt took three attempts to get into this museum as website, facebook, tourist office all suggested different opening times. And what looks like it should be the entrance isn't.
Look for the gate, and go through there when it is open.
Inside an interesting small exhibition of local archaeological finds, beautiful ancient ceramics.Written 23 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - sophie gOxford, UK18 contributionsI just don't get it. There is nothing on the outside of this tourist office to say what it is. And no opening hours on the door. Well nothing at all on the door, as it happens. If you are lucky, and it is open, there's a very nice long-suffering chap who will help you as much as he can. But he did give me the wrong opening times for the Archaeology MuseumWritten 23 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Giorgio MWigan, UK95 contributionsThis church is a 'daughter' church of the Mother Church and is just down from the main piazza.
Currently being usction of the new church.ed as the Parish Church for the parish of the Immaculate Conception while they are building a new church.
Daily mass during the construWritten 25 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Thomas SCeglie Messapica, Italy72 contributionsThis is a beautifully restored and expanded museum which is conveniently located in the town. The docents are well-informed, polite, and professional, but in my experience not comfortable linguistically outside of the Italian language. You are still guaranteed to see somethings that will surprise and delight you. (Think hyenas, for one thing!)Written 22 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
