Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a walk as much as the one I took in thexAbbeyleix Bog. The people involved have done a wonderful job conserving the bog and creating this beautiful walk, a combination of earth and gravel paths and raised wooden boardwalks.
It's so good that I literally did it twice!
There are two walks, one a 3.6km loop and another 7.6 km, I think. I did the shorter loop as it involves a wooden boardwalk out to the centre of the bog. It's stunningly beautiful but it's also the peace and quiet it involves. When I finished it, I promptly kept going and did it again for a second lap!
There's a square wooden platform in the very middle of the bog, what a lovely quiet spot. Wish there was a bench there!
The walk is easy and flat, just wear appropriate footwear. It is wide enough for buggies. About three quarters of it is through woodlands at the edge of the bog then the boardwalk across open raised bog.
Loads of parking at the trailhead by the hotel. Completely free to do and open 24 hours.

I went as part of a university society for the werewolf event and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The stories were so well put together, and the atmosphere was perfect for Halloween. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for events here in the future!
The entire staff were exceptional, they were all so attentive and inviting. I need to give a special mention to the curator Oisin, who was an incredible speaker and so friendly to our group. I would highly recommend this establishment to any of my friends.

This fountain is located on a traffic island in Market Square and described as 'an obelisk set on a robust rusticated plinth'. It is inscribed, "Erected in Memory of John 2nd Viscount De Vesci by Public Subscription 1855". The Viscount reduced all rents in order to lessen the hardships of the times. A trough surrounds the square plinth that has a bronze lions head spigot on each face. I think that some records are incorrect as they claim that the design was by a J.S.Butler in 1860. The fountain is one of five in the town and all have been restored.

The welcome was warm and unstuffy. The amenities were a little dated, the bar area comfortable and clean. They were in the middle of Spring cleaning so it should be a really welcoming place when finished. The course itself is made up of rolling woodland and is not very difficult. The conditions of fairways and greens were very good for the most part and I really enjoyed the course especially for it’s birdsongs and friendly squirrels. For quality and price it’s unbeatable! Thanks for the great welcome!

We attended this church on 4th May on the occasion of a family christening. Its a simple building, octagonal with tower attached and projecting vestry and sacristy. The building is constructed from limestone with slate roof and cast-iron gutters and downpipes. The interior is the more striking, with the timber frames windows, moldings, Lancet arch entrance with timber doors and overlight. The stained glass windows are particularly striking and are dedicated to St. Patrick ad St Brigid and one featuring the "Agony In The Garden". The organ gallery is supported by clustered.columns. The church serves a small population in Ballyroan.
