Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The East Gate ("Dong Men") is in a significant area of Taipei, near the Presidential Offices and other significant buildings and roadways. Taipei once had city walls, but they were demolished during the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). Several gates, including the East Gate, remain.

Sometime there is ordinary feedback for ordinary things. Accidentally we have had accommodation on this street. Some street food 🥘 restaurants, some shops 🏬 nothing unusual

This building dates from the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). This attractive building once housed the office of the governor of Taiwan's railways. As is usual for civic buildings from the Japanese era, the building is finished to a very high standard. It's ell worth a look.

The Taiwan New Cultural Movement was a social, cultural and political movement that aimed to provide a counterweight to Japanese rule during the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). The New Cultural Movement was suppressed by the Japanese authorities, and many participants were jailed. The Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall aims to commemorate those brave people who stood up for themselves. The Memorial Hall was once a Japanese police station.

This part of Huaining street serves as a gateway to the diverse Taipei neighborhood at the Daquiatao subway stop. The neighborhood is worth a visit to see the mixture of old spice and basket shops with new hipster artsy handcraft stores and co-working spaces.

All one can see of this property is its exterior, which reflects a fusion of both Western and Eastern styles, adopted during the Guangxu period. This style was widely adopted by many wealthy businessmen, and foreign embassies during this period.
While initially a place of commerce a nd residence, this particular house later became a kindergarten.
