Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It can be a maze here. You may miss the signage here and there, but thankfully, there are location maps every few meters. Taipei City Mall is divided into a few sections; M, R, K, Y and Z zones. We only managed to sweep Y zones because of the Japanese anime, games and lots of gachapon and claw machines. If you are not a fan of any of above, there are still some clothes, jewelries, souvenirs, bags shops along the way.

Taipei's centrally-located main bus and train station is surrounded by a number of interconnected malls. Q Square Mall is one such mall, and we found it blessed with a range of tempting shopping options. But more intriguing for us were the range of restaurants/eateries (we counted at least twenty different outlets) spread over four floors, so much so that we ended up going back a number of times during our relatively short stay in the city.

I had originally visited Yongle in December, but as it was a Sunday it was closed. This time I wanted a table runner made exactly the same as one I have on my dining table and had faded. I found a woman who sewed and she called a young man who turned out to be her son and spoke really good English. I showed them both the old runner and the mother suggested a particular fabric seller on the floor below. Sean, the son came with me and acted as interpreter. I couldn't believe it when I found the exact same fabric as the old runner which I had bought ready made in Shanghai years ago. We all consulted on yardage and the trimmings then we took it back to the mother to sew. I said I would pick it up a few days later. Sean offered to deliver it to my hotel and it arrived and looked perfect along with the old runner and the left over fabric. They had even included a little gift for me in the shape of a coin purse on a key ring. I loved this market and my new table runner. It was so convenient having the fabrics and the sewing people all in the one building. So if you want something copied or cushion covers or anything else you are sure to find it at Yongle market

Just outside the subway station of the same name, this traditional market sells a bit of everything -- fresh produce and fruits, meats, fish, eggs and prepared foods. Try to avoid the scooters driving through the market and for a respite, duck into the Wenchang Temple for a bit of quiet. For a special treat, be sure to grab a Taiwanese Burrito from the vendor across the street to the south of the temple -- the best NT$35 you'll spend all day.

A good place to go for a walk. Contains a market, shops housed in antique buildings and new buildings. While the street is mainly selling dried food, there are interesting shops selling Chinese new year decor, snacks, food and tea. If you are staying near Taipei Main Station, you can walk to Dihua Street from Taipei Main Station which is about a 30 mins walk from the station.

After visiting Taipei Confucius Temple, we stopped here at the Dalong Street Night Market to look around and get a snack to tie us over until we got back to the hotel. The market here wasn’t on my list to do, so the market itself was average. However, we ordered some pork dumplings as takeaway from the restaurant on the corner called Bafang Dumpling, they were very good, and inexpensive.

NIGHTS in Taipei is not complete w/o visiting their famous markets.! We been to the Shilin so we try out this equally famous. Take the red line to Shuanglian (雙連) Exit 1 and head west/left side for a 10 mins walk. Not bored as there are many shops still operating late at night. From Minsheng West Road (民生西路) the night market will be clearly visible. You just can’t miss the bustling寧夏觀光夜市.
Actually not a very big night market that has over 20 food stands and restaurants at both sides. The market is a pioneer and is over 50 years old. Very packed as we have to wrestle our way a full U-turn when reaching one end. The eating areas are small and many are seen waiting for their turns. These stalls are fairly close together but there is good variety of food from stinky tofu, squid on skewers, rice dishes, noodles. There are also oyster omelette, taro cake, tofu pudding and many other traditional Taiwan style dish that will satisfied your palate. At some corners there are also Some night market games (old-school but missed them!)
Indeed a nice place providing delicious snacks and more, definitely recommended for tourists whom want to immense themselves with the locals ..

There are a lot of tea shops in Taipei but one wonders about the quality of the teas. This shops specializes in organic tea and you can also taste the difference in teas. It’s expensive if you opt for ther 高山茶 brand but if you are a tea lover and enjoy Taiwanese tea, you will love it !
