Akriza (not sure of spelling) led a wonderful tour. Great pacing. Excellent background. Shared highlights of ongoing research into archeology and the language and symbols found at Knossos. Shared wonderful pictures of her own to more fully bring the building to life.

We are from Cyprus living in Athens last 8 years and we visited Crete for second time and for second time we booked this tour with Tours in Heraklion, tour agency. Spyros, the driver guide, made the experience exceptional. He is very knowledgeable entertaining and passionate, answered all the questions and believe me, there were many questions we asked all day long. We could'nt believe that we could see and explore so much about the region and Crete, in just a few hours. Driving is so nice with many stops, showing us the flora and fauna, telling us stories about every village we were passing through and taking many pictures. We stopped in an olive oil mill, tasted many kinds of locals olive oils, learned about the old windmills, there are two different types of windmills, for irrigation and for making a flour, visited a monastery, stopped in a grocery store for Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts, stopped in a pottery to see the craftsman in action, amazing experience there, we had a Greek coffee and some homemade cookies in a café running by 80 years old lady, had a local food in family tavern, picked some fresh strawberries and had a glass of Cretan white wine and our last stop was at Knossos Palace. I highly recommend this tour to everyone, even if you are just for a day in Crete.
5 stars are not enough for this tour.
Thank you, Nikos and Spyros for this unforgettable day!

Chania was a short bus trip from hotel in Stalos...It's basically the cretan version of York England with harbour front too.We went several times due to there being plenty of streets to explore.

Leonidas welcomed us with a big smile, kindness , and a deep knowledge of history that made every moment interesting. His stories made the tour engaging, and his hospitality made us feel like part of the family. An experience we won’t forget!

We really enjoyed our tour with Popi, who is an incredible guide! She is so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Cretan and Minoan history and archeology. The tour was fascinating and we came away with so much new information. Popi encouraged us to ask questions and she always had an answer. It was a great way to start our Cretan vacation and we highly recommend a tour with Popi.

DO NOT USE CRETE HOP ON HOP OFF BUS, there are 3 companys so stay away from the Crete hop on bus , 1 route 40 mins shortage of buses had to walk back from the last stop as bus nowhere to be seen, advertised as 2 routes paid €20 each which was a total waste of time, when i complained the 2 horrible women in the kiosk just shrugged and said only red line was running and had the cheek to say we didnt have far to walk what a rude pair of women , whatever you do STAY AWAY from the CRETE company

I had a fantastic tour! Marinos was an excellent guide, and he knew the history of everything and everyone along the way. The mountain villages and scenery were straight out of a fairytale. Knossos was incredible as well! 10/10 would recommend!

Janis the guide was superb. Knossos was busy but he did a great job.
The briefing within Heraklion was more orientation and not really any kind of tour of the city.
Had Janis taking us around the city with the same detail and information he provided for Knossos the tour would have been 5 star.
Take this tour for Knossos and don't expect much about Heraklion.

Because Independent Day, All the museum and archeological sites are closed. We are visiting the outside. It will depends on the information from the guide. I am personally very interested in history. The local guide didn’t have a very systematic guide to us. However, he is very nice, responsible and he is maximizing all the time. He is doing his best bring us to the places we are interested in.

Fantastic tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The small tour group (3 people) allowed the guide to tailor the tour

What a fantastic few hours we had at Knossos Palace with the amazing TUI tour guide Maria. She was wonderful all around. Very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the things she was telling us. There was some waiting around today to view certain parts of the palace so Maria spent the time telling us stories about the palace and the area and the local inhabitants of the time period, making sure we never got bored and fed up waiting in the sun. The Palace itself is stunning! Well worth the money if you want an educational and fun few hours. My only criticism (if you could call it that) is that the tour groups could be smaller to ensure no one gets mixed up or loses the group etc. Our group was around 30 people I think? and a few times we lost the guide as she was showing people other areas.
