The chap we were paired with was nice and a very good golfer so it wasn’t much of a bother but generally I like just playing with my friends. The course was in great nick there is nothing much to complain about the course it is very long so you need buggies but the buggy hire is very expensive as is the green fees. However, the good news is that it was in very good condition, fairways greens and Tees all very good and so much improvement. In my opinion it’s the best course in the Algarve and it’s getting back to where it should be. Still no clubhouse, but they have set up a nice bar area, check in is as before and a temp buggy store. Always in time, very friendly chauffeurs always neatly dressed in black suit & white shirt, nice clean good smelling cars, and about same price as a normal taxi.
Last time I lost my sunglasses in the car, without even realizing I lost them, and I got them back in no time ! They are so knowledgeable about the local area, especially the restaurants. Uber are a cheaper option but these guys are the better option. After he loaded our cases we were handed a bottle of water each and we were quickly on our way. Super comfy and cheaper than our last transfer. - Midday Rambler7 contributionsWe hired three bikes, helmets and locks for 4 hours at a total cost of 33 euros, which we thought was very good value. Ana, who served us, was very friendly and helpful, making sure the bikes were appropriately adjusted for us before we set off. There was a range of different types of bikes on offer and plenty of stock, all looked pretty new and well maintained.
There is a great system of wooden boardwalks along the coast that take you past the lake and then run parallel to the beach, we had a really enjoyable and easy ride to Praia do Garrao, where we had some lunch and then cycled back, stopping off at some practically deserted parts of the beach on the way back.
A couple of minor things to be aware of: you have to cycle along the Avenue Andre Jordan for about five minutes before you reach the boardwalks. This is pretty wide and straight, but the occasional cars and lorries may be unsettling for very young children. The other thing is that the boardwalks have a number of chicane-style gates at various points where they cross footpaths or access roads.
