Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Colin DWest Drayton, UK863 contributionsMy third visit to this castle over the years. A place I find quite interesting.
Free to get in. You can walk up, but that takes ages. You can also go up in the lift from the coast road, which is well worth the couple of Euro to get in.
A new coffee shop/bar/cafe has opened in the 7 years since my previous visit.
Lots of things to look at from a historic perspective, and very good views of the city from the ramparts.
As with lost of historic sites, this is not really very disables friendly.Written 15 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WorldTravelGoUnited Kingdom47 contributionsGreat beach, not as busy as Alicante, 20 min journey on tram from Alicante, although buying a ticket was confusing (ticket machines on tram) - varied bars and restaurants. Worth a visit if you’re staying in Alicante for a change of scenery.Written 15 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WorldTravelGoUnited Kingdom47 contributionsClean, air conditioned and frequent. Although buying a ticket was a little complicated. You need to purchase on the tram from the machine. Couldn’t work out how to do it and ended up not paying (both directions) - was a little nervous as I know there could be a ticket inspector but I genuinely couldn’t work out how to pay for a ticket.Written 15 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laurella WalkerWinchester, UK1,755 contributionsA nice place for a walk and a look at the markets. The fountains light up at night and there are restaurants along the front too. A clean area with seating along the way. Look out for the pandaWritten 29 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joana SLondon, UK619 contributionsDefinitely the most beautiful part of Alicante. I visited early morning, off season, it was quiet and sunny.
Beautiful colourful houses, flowers. And amazing views from the top. Definitely the best place to watch the sunset, unfortunately i didn’t know that during my one night stay.
It has a lot of steps to reach the nicest parts, but lots of streets and little squares with nice views to take a break.

It’s worth learning a bit about the market’s history to fully appreciate such a wonderful placeWritten 9 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eileen108Mount Shasta, CA5,692 contributionsWe went in January 2024 to see the Terracotta Warriors on loan from China and it was absolutely fantastic! The audio guide provides an interesting and informative insight into the history and culture of a truly fascinating building. Full of interest and atmosphere, the Bascillia is a wonderful, charming and extremely touching place to visit. The walk up to the top of the bell tower is a bit challenging but worth the effort because the views are spectacular.Written 11 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
